Problems with WORK lugnuts on ROTA rims.

So I have 17" Rota Grid wheels and recently purchased WORK lugs for them, the 13/16" size ones. Originally I couldn't get a regular 13/16 socket to fit into the bore of the ROTA wheels.

So I ordered a gorilla thin wall 13/16" socket. The socket is still too tight to not scratch the bore of the rim. What am I missing here? Is there another way around this to not scratch my wheels? I like these lugs and want to use them, but it looks like they are just not going to work with these rims.

Anyone else ever experience something like this?

grind off the socket wall to make it even thinner, only way sometimes
