i know that we aren't allowed to cross rotate tires. they've done studies that it weakens the tire and leaves them more likely to have a blow out. we rotate the tires front to back and you always mount the new tires on the rear! unlike many people think cause there vehicle is a front wheel drive the best tires should be on the front.

the higher the tread wear is the longer the tire will last. every company is different so you can't really compare company to company to much. winter tires usually don't have a tread wear rating because the rubber is too soft. basically if a tire has a tread wear rating of a 100 and another tire has a tread wear of 400. the 400 tire will last 4 x as long as the 100 tread wear tire! don't ask me how long 100 should last you cause every tire company is different. if your trying to compare tires, try and use two names that are made by the same company (ex. BF Goodrich and Michelin)

here this might help a bit " Temperature ratings run from A to B to C, with C being the minimum allowable for passenger car tires. The ratings correspond to a tire's ability to dissipate heat under load; tires with lower ratings are more prone to heat-induced failure, especially if driven at high speeds (or when overloaded). As with traction ratings, never buy a tire with a temperature rating that's less than specified for your vehicle." Everything you need to know about tires - CNN.com
