my friend painted his 4dr 8thgen w/ red duplicolor, and it was chipping really bad only after a few weeks. He said it flaked off when he was washing his car. Just the pressure from a garden house knocked the paint off....

ultimately it's all up to you, and it probably matters how well you clean the caliper and the temperature outside when you do it, and any other number of factors...but just thought i'd pass it along!

Ive had the g2 caliper paint kit for 8 months now, w/ zero problems, no fadding, cracking, or chipping at all.

You MUST take the time to prep the wheels correctly if you want the paint to last.

Wash them with Ivory dish soap to get all the grease, wax & dirt off. Then sand with 320. Clean again to get the sanding dust off - then clean with alcohol. Prime with duplicolor DAP1690 self etch primer. Then paint in the color you want HWP1xx then clear with HWP103.

demo here... http://duplicolor.com/training/wheel..._training.html

For calipers, duplicolor has specific color kits for that. But if you want plain black calipers, get a small can of rustoleum BBQ grill paint & a foam brush. I've had that BBQ paint last over 10 years on calipers.

well i don't know about for wheels, but the G2 is excellent for calipers.

It comes w/ a brake caliper cleaner, brush, paint, and hardner. That's the difference between the duplicolor and the g2, the duplicolor is just paint...the g2 is an epoxy (it gets hard) it's just to prevent chipping, etc.

If you know what your doing, which sounds like you don't, I would only paint my wheels after I've cleaned them again and again with the proper solution. Wet sanded every little crevice with 800 grit sand paper. Bought a pint of PPG, Dupont or Diamont paint with an industry equivalent catalyst activated clearcoat. All of it shot through a $300+ HVLP spray gun to get close just close to the quality of the stock paint on the wheels. Otherwise the cheapy spray cans do NOT even come close to the quality of the stock paint on the wheels. Goodluck. If your as hardcore as I am then this is the way of the pro, not that I am.
