Curbage...wtf...I mean seriously

Is anybody else really surprised by the amount of rims out there that have curbage?

I am looking to pick up a set of rims soon, and have been looking at some used ones on here, and clubrsx...ebay too occasionally . It seems like a almost every used set I look at has some sort of curbage...wtf...can't people keep their cars off the curb???

I imagine it happens most when people are trying to parallel park? I don't parallel park my car every day because of where I live and work, but enough, and I have never come even close to curbing. My argument is that if you live in an area where you parallel park more often, it would be even less of a liability because you have practice all the time...

Come to think of it, I have never curbed a rim in 8 years of driving and about 125k miles...so what gives...

Anybody else surprised as well? Especially when peeps are rolling nice Volks etc?...You could be sure as sh!t that if I spent $2500+ that my wheels would never come close to seeing a curb...

I have light curb rash on the edge lip of a couple of my rims from having to parallel park. I tried to get too close to the curb, and it hit a bit.

It sucks.

I just mark if off as people not giving a shit. It's kinda annoying actually.

I have to parallel park, but it depends where I go. If i'm in downtown or at school, then yeah... otherwise I never have to. I try to be super careful and I've had a lot of close calls.

I've curbed a few of my rims trying to get as far off the road as possible whilst parallel parking. I figure a curbed wheel, while it sucks shit, is better than a new bumper or worse.

I'll give you that...bumper is certainly more expensive than replacing a wheel

I've curbed a few times from parallel parking...sometimes the curbs are hard to see depending on the street and lighting...I try not to park too close but yeah it happens sometimes...

Still sucks, though. I think in all, I've curbed four wheels of the ten sets I've had on my car.

Just carelessness, mostly. Once, though, I was exiting a drive-thru ATM & this guy on a bike flew into the carpark. To avoid him, I had to cut the wheel sharply to the right, or I would've hit him, even had I braked. Hit the curb between the banking lanes.

Stupid ****.

I have had only 1 curbage accident, wasnt my fault either. Some dumba$$es in a F150 decided to take up more than 1/2 of my lane around a turn and run me into a curb at 45mph. I hit the brakes and the rear end came out (really slick surface) and I slid sideways into it and they ran the red light to get away. -_-

Both passengar side wheels cracked and damaged suspension to hell.
