Well boys and girls, I'm in the market for some wheels, and unfortunately for me I've got a pretty tight budget I'm working with. With that being said, I know the quality, the look, the feel, the style, and the cool points you get when you have Volks, Work, BBS, ect, but there is no way I can spring for any of those right now, so there is no point to even bring them up. I will once, just cuz I'm the topic starter, but I have to say I love the Work XD9 and the CR Kai, and if my budget allowed there would be no questions about these rims.
Okay, on with the story... I've decided I want a 18" rim, either in a x8 or x7.5, and lucky enuff for me I found a common website that seems to have a good number of these at very reasonable prices. Here is a current pic of my car with the stockies (so we know what we're working with) and I'll follow this up with my options for wheels. The prices I've listed are the websites prices which include rims, tires, mounting, balancing, and shipping all to my front door. ![]() My first option is the Axis Wide Track. I like the lip and the stagger of these wheels, but the colors kinda throws me off. I know I can have them powder coated or painted down the road, so that is a viable option. $1500 ![]() My second option is the Axis Gravity. Pretty much the same damn thing as the Wide Track, minus the stagger and "deep" lip. Same song and dance with the colors. $1500 ![]() My third and fourth choices are the Tenzo R DC5 V.1 and DC6 V.1, respectfully. The bronze on either rim looks good, but in the pictures on WheelsNEXT and the Tenzo site, its show some blue stickers around the lip of the DC5... I'm not a big fan of that. And I don't like the V.2 editions, the polished lip just doesn't do anything for me. The main reason I'm hesitant is because of the "Tenzo" name, but I may have to suck it up for the sake of my budget. $1200 for either. ![]() ![]() And my final choice, at least for the day, is the Enkei RSV. I like this rim, and I like Enkei. Its essentially the same as the DC5, which is basically a CR Kai, which I think is what's turning me onto this style of rim. The only turn off for me is that polished lip. It doesn't look good with the bronze, and I think on my nhpb the bronze would set it off nicely. However the gunmetal isn't that bad, on any of the wheels really. $1100 ![]() I'm also keeping in mind that the less I go the more I can do to other components of my FA5.. ie a DCRH!! So there is my current dilema.. opinions, suggestions, and comments... thats why I'm here! ![]() |

as far the axis widetrack goes ive seen them on here on a silver coupe and i wasnt feelin them...they might look better on a sedan but probably not....2nd set isnt too much better imo....ive also seen the enkeis on a sedan in gunmetal and they looked tiny bc of the design....i would personally go with the first set of tenzos...they look good and the stickers make em stand out a little...just my opinion tho hope it helps

I like the Axis gravity. I noticed you were looking at rims at Wheelsnext.com. I was as well...how do you know what kind of tires come with the rims? I cant find anywhere that says what brand tire you get and I dont want to get stuck with some crappy tires. (didnt mean to jack your thread by the way)

I got some ROTA D2's (see pics) ![]() ![]() You almost have enough $$ for a nice set of JDM wheels (Work XT/ KAI etc), just save your money and hold off for a lil bit longer. Trust me. YOU'll appreciate your wait! ![]() |
