Last question about 18" HFP on non-si + Tire PSI question

Will they fit on my LX with no issues? I got them in the mail last week (they are really pretty in real life) and I want to put them on this evening when I leave work. Will I need spacers or anything like that, or will it just be a plug and play thing? I searched as well as I could but I could find no mention of it. (Probably because there is nothing to mention...lol)

A bigger question; When I had my old Galant (R.I.P. buddy) I had a problem of constantly blowing tires over even the smallest potholes. I used to have them inflated at the car spec (~32PSI) but they seemed underinflated and flat. I ran on 205/40/17's for the most part.

If I put on 215/40/18's, around what PSI should I have the tires at?
If I put on 225/40/18, what should that be at?
Should I just follow what it says on the side of the tires?

I am sure that wrong PSI levels had an impact on me blowing so many tires.

I am thinking about a lower profile tire, but don't want to mess with blowing tires every week, will ensuring proper PSI levels help me when I hit them? The Bronx seems to be the pothole capital of the world. If it were up to me, I'd have 205/40/18's on my car. :)

the psi on the side of teh tires is the MAX pressure....do not hav ethem at that because the air expands as you drive and it heats up...try 3-5 below the max PSI listed on teh tire.

also, low profile tires (and i consider 40 a low profile) will always have problems with bubbleing and blowing out if you hit a pot hole hard enough...no matter the size. all it takes is hitting the very edge of it at the right angle and you will damage your tire. anywhere arounf NYC is horrible for wheels. i dont know if you are lowered or if it will fit, but try a 45 series tire.

you will not need spacers. they should bolt right up.

Cool. I've been driving on my regular tire for over a year, and I really fear that I am going to hate the ride on my civic after doing this. I plan to order the HFP suspension kit for my car next week, so I might stick with a lower profile tire for now. I just got to be eagle-eyed about the potholes...
