Wheel and tire sizes vs. performance
So, I'm not sure if this has been answered or not, but what's the point of going larger in wheels and thinner (or thicker) tires vs. the stock Si 17" size, and how will it affect ride quality, handling, MPG etc.? What should you do to your suspension, and what's the max. lowering with 18" wheels?
Also, I realize that in autocross and other performance driving, you'd likely get smaller wheels/tires for weight, but is there any other reason? Thanks. |

Cheaper tires. I've thought about doing some 16" x 7.5" or 8" wheels & some 225/50-16 r-compounds on the side. A hell of a lot cheaper than 17" tires & with more grip than you can shake a stick at.
