DX Coupe + Prodrive 18x8 35mm = smart choice?

I am considering purchasing a set of Prodrive PFF7's

They are 18x8 and 35mm offset. I am slightly hesitant to make a move because it is a big upgrade from my 15in steelies haha. I have a stock suspension right now but would like to drop in the future, nothing aggressive maybe 1.3 -1.5 in.

I really like the wheels, and from what i read, they are very good quality. They are also a great deal. I need a reality check from you guys to see if they will fit comfortably on my ride and then maybe if you have a suggestion for tire size.

I appreciate your input!

WOW..Silver HFP's (almost)..I really like those wheels. I would go with 225/40-18 tires. You will probably need spacers to get the right offset.

As you lower the offset, the position of the outside edge of the wheel is extended out to the fender. Spacers do the same thing.

And a 35 offset will probably give you some rubbing unless you roll fenders or make other modifications, especially if lowered.

I have 7.5 wide with +35 offset (225 series tires) and I have some rubbing going on. I'm lowered about 1.5" or so... maybe more. I dunno. At 8" wide, you will rub.

Even with a 215, you'll get some minor rubbing. I've got 18x8 on 35mm and I'm lowered 1.4", and I get just a little bit of rubbing when the car's weighed down and going over big dips.

I have 17x8 45 offset with 235/40/17 tires. I have Tein Flex's so i don't know the drop but its almost a 2 finger gap (if that helps) and i have no rubbing. However, my fenders are rolled because of my last set of tires which where 18x7.5 45 offset with 225/40/18 and they rubbed even with the fenders rolled. I don't know if that will help but thats my experience.

so you rub with a skinnier rim and skinnier tire? How's that make sense?

The last time I had my car up on the rack at the tire shop, they asked if they could test fit some Volks in this exact size, 18x8 35mm offset, for a customer with a civic. They gave it a thumbs down on fitment, he said he was glad he didn't ship them out. I'm lowered about 1.25", but I don't think that was the issue. Looked like they stuck out too far from the fender. Regarding the comment about putting spacers on, that's the last thing you would want to do with this low offset. Spacers to be used only on high offset wheels above 45mm to bring the wheels further out.
