Si Stock Tire Price

When I took my 07 Si in for its 10k service, the Honda dealership informed me that my front tires were almost completely worn. Granted I think I can get another 5k miles out of them since they moved them to the back, but when I asked how much two new tires would cost, they said about $650. Why is this so? I've heard of two rims going for less than that. And the stock 17' tires didn't even seem that high quality.

Maybe search here and try to pricematch at a local vendor?

Your tires are gone after 10k? I dunno, aren't they supposed to have some kind of treadlife warranty on them? Or have you been laying some patch on a regular basis?

That seems awfully low. I had my 1b service done not too long ago, around 13000kms and I think the lowest was at 90% or so. And yeah, your dealership will likely charge you an arm and a leg. Looking on Tire Rack, 205/45/17 Kumho Ecsta all-seasons are $68 each. I'd have to go out and see what exact model of Michelin Pilots they are, but Tire Rack has Pilot Exalto and Precedas for $124 and $155 respectively. They aren't all-seasons though.

they should be around $200 per tire stock, where do you get 205/45/17 ? It's 215/45/17 I believe.

You are correct. Had to go out and check them, for some reason I thought they were 205.

I don't care for the price of the Michelin summer tires, but they are quite sticky, I still can get it to squeal in 2nd ha ha........................ on a side note I just got off work and raced a Dodge Ram V8, it was pretty ugly past 20mph..........................
