What tire size would you guys reccommend?

I'm currently driving a bone stock 2007 NHB Civic LX. The wheels I plan on using are 17x7.5, 5x114.3. This mainly a daily commuter car, I just hate the hubcaps and want to get something new. I'm having some issues trying to find an appropriate size rim what is the most appropriate size that I could put in without rubbing? Also would this require a larger spacer? I probably won't be lowering it anytime soon, the roads here are terrible and those weird huge half-octagon shaped speed bumps are becoming more common in my area. But who knows I may get annoyed by the huge gap once I get the rims on.

What is the offset on the wheels? My HFP 17" offset is 45mm with 225/45-17. That will determine if you will have any rubbing. IMO...225/45-17 is as large as you should go to be safe.

215/45/17's. 225/45/17's have a slightly larger diameter than stock. 215's are also lighter, and have less rolling resistance, resulting in better fuel economy, acceleration. 215/45/17's are the size that come on the SI stock.
