Looking for blue rims

Hey all,

Tonight I've been googling up a storm looking for rims for my new si sedan. I'm trying to find metallic-ish blue rims, but I can't find anything anywhere that seems to fit. The best I have found so far were a deep blue, and I'm looking for more of a light blue with a metallic hint to it. Does anyone know of a set of rims like this?

I'm also trying to keep the price down, so I can't afford anything like $400/rim or something crazy like that. is $600 for all 4 rims a reasonable price or am I not going to find anything in that range? Not including the tires of course.

Thanks for any help

OR.. this might not be the cheapest alternative.. but you can find a choice of rims that fit your style.. or fit your budget.. and later on down the line.. you can have them powdercoated a custom color of your choice.. this way.. you have a set of rims that you like.. and it comes in a color that matches your ride too.. and you'll know that nobody else will have the exact same rim/color as you do.. aka one of a kind once again.. not the cheapest option..

Thanks for the quick replies. Those rims were too blue, not metallic like I'm hoping for. I thought about powder coating as well, but I'm not sure how much that'll cost and if I'll get the right color.

This is more along the color I'm looking for, not too concerned with the spoke patterns right now. My buddy knows I'm looking for this color and sent me this pic, but he told me they are over a grand for each rim, and that's.. out of my price range lol.

guess the AME circlar spec r's are out of your league then, huh?

look into the sport max 961's....they are not all blue, but they have a hint of blue in one of the color combos.

Holy crap that car looks damn hot. That's what I was trying to do, except I hadn't even thought of blue tint. I hope that guy doesn't mind me stealing the idea ;( The only thing I had thought of was how hot blue metallic rims would look on a taffy white sedan, but the blue tint makes it look 5930250 x better.

Honestly, getting cool rims takes some money...you aren't down with saving some of your money to get some rims without the constraints of the budget you have right now?

Yeah I realize that, but not everyone can afford 2k+ on just a set of rims. Therefore, I asked if anyone knew of a rim in that color that fit [near] my price. I don't need volks or ultra light forged rims, just want the color and hopefully some durability.

On another note, I looked at some rotas and I'm kind of digging the "Motorsports series P-1". Figure white rims on a white si might look pretty good. Still holding out for the blue ones though.

I am not saying that you didn't realize that. (...or else you wouldnt be asking for cheap alternatives)

Just wondering why you didn't want to wait a bit and save up. But to each their own I suppose.

You know, another option(that will allow you to purchase a 2k set of wheels) is to open up one of those 0% APR credit cards(search the internet there are plenty). Usually its like 12 months no interest. You can take whatever money you have now to pay some of it off, then pay the rest off before your 12 months end. Just becareful though...any balance you have left after the promo 12 month period, you will get hosed with a high interest rate.

Well I'm only 18.. so spending 2k on rims just isn't viable when I've only netted about 6 grand in income this year so far.

I'm not looking for anythign amazing, just the stock rims are kind of boring. I guess if I could sell my si rims (how much do they sell for with less than 100 miles on them?), I could add that price on to my next set of rims.

I'd advise against that because that means you'll be running your new rims in the winter. Then they'll get messed up, unless you live in a snow-free zone. If your rims get messed up, then you'll be looking to buy rims again at this time next year.

I agree...you should keep your stock rims to switch back to during the winters.

Yes I realize those volks are far out of my price range. I guess I'm gonna have to bump it up, I didn't realize $600 would be so cheap for rims lol. I just posted that pic to show the color I was looking for.

I suppose I'm just going to powder-coat or paint my stock rims, and save some money for my other mods. Need to tint the windows, get an HFP front lip and a mugen wing + painting.

Does anyone think painting the rims Taffy white would look good? I was looking at the Type R white rims, on a white sedan - and that shit was hot. Not sure how the stock SI rims would look in white though.

Think "Rota". They even have a similar blue finish available if you can actually find a set. Someone on here posted a picture a while back with the blue rotas on his car.

I saw a white pair of rotas (they had no blue ones that I liked) on their site, but they didn't have pricing or an option to buy. I then searched around for them but couldn't find them on another site.

Rotas are within your price range, typically around 600 for a set.
