205/45-16 or 205/40-16 fit OEM 16" rims?

Summer is coming along and its time for me to get new summer tires. I was looking at my car the other day and i noticed that the tires on the rims where too "fat" for my liking, i'd like a smaller sidewall.

So i was wondering if slicker tires would fit the rims... I know that honda recommends using 205/55-16 tires with the rims, but would 205/45-16 or 205/40-16 work?

I know that this would give me a slightly(bearly) more hp at the wheels, but would it improve the handling aswell?

Why don't you get aftermarket wheels/tires?

The smaller diameter will change your speedometer reading. IMO don't do it. Spending money on a quick fix is just throwing your money away. If you want your car to sit lower, save your money and get lowering springs.

It's not really that i want my car to sit lower, I have to get new summer tires anyhow, so i thot i'd opt for a slicker tire to get a firmer ride and better handling... you're right on the speedometre/odometre reading tho...
I guess ill settle for the recommended size and wait some time to get 17" wheels... i'd want to get the HFP suspension kit, my dealer charges about 1500$(CAD) installed, and i would only save a few hundred $ buying it from college hills honda due the the shipping fees and duty taxes...
thx for the advice!
