id say from experience with a few diff sets of 18s and 17s ... on my Si sedan .. that any lower then 1" and you will have rubbing issues
im dropped on tein s-techs (~1.5) and with 18x7 +45 with 225 40 18 - on bigger bumps the tire would rub the inside plastic of the wheel well 17x7.5 +45 with 225 45 17 - i would get the occasional rub here and there your basically running a wider setup then i did with the hfps ...which would stick your wheel further out and then to top it off .. a lower offset which is going to add to the wider setup .. so if you were to go lower then an inch ,.. i think u would have rubbing issues if using a 225 40 ... you could try a 215 40 18 and see if that helps but that size tire is more on the expensive side and your options for tires are alot less then the 225 40 18 |
