Putting suspension blocks in your suspension?

What's up guys. I'm obviously new here. I did a search but couldn't find anything on this. I put 18's on my 08 Civic and now if someone is in the backseat and I hit a bump the tire scrapes inside the fender....the guys who put them on recommended I put suspension blocks in the rear. Any thoughts on this?

Stock suspension. And what else do you need to know? I know they are 18's and the tires are 225's.

Offset and width of the wheels, the aspect ratio of the tires (225/45/18 or 225/40/18) have you had an alignment done?

There is no offset that I know of. They are 225/40/18. No alignment done. And they aren't actually blocks I don't think, I think they are called spacers. The guy put two on today and it didn't do it as bad or as much but it still did it with two people in my back seat. Should I just get him to put another one in or do I have to get all new suspension or what?

Kinda difficult to give you help with info we don't have...

The only thing I could suggest is changing the tire size on the car to 215/40/18.
