Does installing aftermarket wheels and tires affect the factory/Hondacare warranty in any way? I'm talking going from 16 to 17", not anything crazy like 24's....

Yes, sir, at least where I live it would null your warranty on all parts that are connected with wheels or even your entire warranty unless the wheels are bought from the Honda dealer you purchased the car from and those wheels would have to be Honda/ Modulo/ Mugen. Furthermore, in some countries and maybe mine too, it can even create problems for insurance claims.However, you can do what I've done... I've retained the original wheels and whenever the car goes for periodic service, I change back to the original wheels

I don't see why it would affect your warranty. What happens when someone puts winter tires on their car then?

What country do you live in? They cannot null and void your warranty simply because you put some different parts on (wheels in this case). They have to be able to prove that the part in question is actually the root cause of your warranty issue.

Just had my ride in for a minor seat repair yesterday, they didnt say a thing about the rims other then the fact they will pay to repair the rim they curbed.....


Service manager almost had a fit when I explained to him it wasn't stock honda rims but my nice summer rims, but he didn't say anything about my rims and warranty.

I got the dealer's little wheel and tire insurance. They specifically said it covered aftermarket wheels as well. So if I curb one of the Volks, or pop one of the Advan's, I'm good. :)
