18-inch wheels for Civic Sedan

Looking to get 18s for our 06 Civic Sedan EX, looking for an aggressive setup without any rubbing (i'm trying to maximize the rim's lip without shaving fenders or rubbing). i'm planning to run:

- Tein Basics to be flexible w/ height
- 18x7.5 or 18x8 w/ offsets from the high 30s to the 40s (just numbers i've seen from some of these threads)
- Tire Size: I could use the advise... 225/40/18?
- Wheel of preference: Works, DPE, Volks, Racing Hart...

any direction is greatly appreciated... hey pics would be nice too! thanks in advance

* Aggressive Setup and No Rubbing does not go together.
* TEIN Basics aren't that flexible.
* What's your budget for tires and rims?

how about a setup w/o rubbing. is there an offset range where i could run 18x7.5 and still have a decent lip. i just threw in tein basics so i could adjust the height and hopefully is the closest ride to stock. now on the budget thing, if the price is right, I'll do it (i've run tein coilovers and aggressive setups on my s2k and element, but yes i do rub)

i guess i'm just taking pre-cautions this time around

7.5 on the high 30s and mid 40s would never have a decent lip. It'll have a lip, YES but well....not enough for me to have a 2nd look.

When I mentioned aggressive setup, I wasn't talking about just putting coil overs and calling it quits and call it aggressive if it rubs. Because even with just springs, you can rub.

I was in the line of "Aggressive Approach" wherein you just don't buy coil overs but you also buy other suspension components in order for it to have an aggressive setup (Rim/Tire/Alignment) and still not rub.

It sounds like you're one of those guys that just wants the aggressive look. If that's what you're really after, then I must say that the TEIN basics just won't cut it.

* Your wheels of choice would bump up your budget to $1,800 already but you're on a budget.
* Then you want a ride height as close to stock as possible, but you want coil overs.
* You don't want it to rub. But you want it to have an aggressive look.

** 18x7.5 below 35 would give you a decent lip (IMHO).

THANKS P4rD0nM3....

you definitely made me realize a lot, better yet you've actually taught me a lot.... In conclusion, I'm really digging what HFP has to offer so i'm going for ONLY HFP upgrades.
