I think slightly bigger wheels should take off actually. I mean, I wouldn't recommend going bigger than 19's on our cars but atleast you can be dumped and still be off the ground quite a bit so you can actually go over a speed bump.

Surprised I don't dig 18's more so I can still be a bit higher off the ground but go lower.
I just stick to 17's cause what keeps me from going lower is the fact that I use a 45 sidewall. I can't DO dumped. I'd get stuck on my driveway. Trust me, i've tried. I've been thinking of getting some 17x9 28mm size wheels with 215/45 tires. I'm kinda hesitant cause I don't know how low I could go on that setup and how much camber i'd have to run. eventhough I don't mind a bit of neg camber.
