Can a 16" rim fit an Si?

17" winter tires are HELLA expensive. 16" are more popular, thus cheaper.

Can 16" rims fit our Si's? I've heard no, because of the front brake size.

anyone?

Yes, 16's will fit. There are a few people using 16" steelies or RSX wheels. Even the 04-05 SIR and Prelude wheels fit.

My winter boots are 16x6.5 black steelies with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 205/55 R16.

Just a reminder. If you get a flat, Don't mount the SI's temporary spare on the FRONT WHEELS. You will damage your LSD.

Mount the temporary on a back wheel.
Mount the full size back wheel on the front.
Put the flat front in the trunk.

Well you asked if 16's will fit... they are 16's.

This is the extreme amount of clearance from 16inch steelies... not too sure I would be comfortable with that:

There's an amazing sponsor of this very forum - "TireRack."

You can configure a winter tire package for your Si with 16" steel wheels.
(Caper, what steel wheels *are* those?)

Here's the fitment as delivered from TireRack (two good shots, close-up of brake caliper with cell phone):

Got a 16 inch wheel/tire package from tirerack.com as well. Went with inexpensive 7 spoke alloy rims however. Mounted Dunlop Winter Sport M3s. Not sure how they do in the snow yet but they are actually damn good in the dry and rain. Granted I can't push as hard as with my summer tires but I didn't loose too much grip. Only drawback is that 16 inch rims don't look quite right on the Si but I was used to seeing my 18 inch rims there most of the year.

I know this thread is old as the forum nearly.. lol, but didnt want to make a new Thread for such a similar question...

neways can anyone clarify if the 92-02 rx7 rims will fit on our cars(clear calipers)

and would they still clear even if you did tsx front brake swap?

You might want to ask in a TSX forum?

Wow now thats cutting it close. I had the same exact amount of clearance on my 15 Slips i was running on my Prelude that OEM size was 16. Looks really close but rotated like a bat outta hell and functioned just fine do it! just not on steelies
