Just like the rest of the world, im looking to upgrade my rims. I am looking at maybe going up to 18's. Normally weight would be an issue, but im going light, if i stick with 17's theyll be 15lb per rim, 18's would be 17lbs.
1. What are the advantages/disadvantages of 17x7.5's? 2. The real reason i am thinking 18 is because i want to lose some of that gap. Im not too sure about lowering her, she's my daily & my comfort is on the edge with the stock suspension as it is. But for performance/comfort, what are the a&d's of 18's? |

1. Advantage: You can fit a 225 series tire on nicely. Disadvantage: Uh...maybe increased rolling resistance so worse fuel economy.
2. Advantage: Smaller sidewall so better handling. Disadvantage: Ride will be worsened. You said you don't like the ride already. With 18s it will be worse since you have less sidewall to absorb the bumps. Also if you are not going to lower it then 18s will make your wheel gap look even bigger. |
