DIY Tire/Wheel Change

So just ordered my new wheels/tires from wheelsnext.com and I understand that they have balanced, and inflated them but.....should I still take the car to a "pro" to put the wheels on my car or can I just put them on in the garage. Worked for a Budwieser Distro at one time and we always had special torque bars we would put onto the impact gun in order to NOT damage the lug nuts/bolts. This true with new cars or can i just hook it up on my own? Appreciate the info.

those torque bars you are talking about is just so that the impact gun will not over tighten the lugs...if you over tighten the lugs, the bolts can break off and your wheel will fall off... unless you are superman, i doubt you will over torque ur new wheels...however, everytime new wheels are put on a vehicle, the lugs have a tendancy to loosen themselves....all you have to do is remember to do a re-torque after about 50 miles....and you will be good. i worked at a tire shop for over three years (belle tire) so i know what im talking about...if you have a torque wrench layin around...set it to 80 ft/lbs and hit all the lugs with it...thats the specs for all hondas.

Well they came in today and I am about to hook em up, but have one more quick question. Now take into account that I am a wheel noob...never had the money . Anyways, the installation kit came with 4 red rings (spacers?), and they seem to fit onto the backside of the wheel directly behind the center cap area. Is this how offset is determined...the wheel isnt maufactured, when they want to change offset they just add a bigger or smaller spacer? And I am assuming that I have them in the right location and they do go on the wheels.

That's so that, intead of sitting on the hub with space to wobble, it sits and perches on the lugs.
