I've finally decided on these wheels in bronze for my fiji blue pearl...
![]() ![]() how can you say no to that? lol ![]() 1. wheeldude.com has them for $650 shipped, is there anywhere I can beat this at? 2. I dont know much about offset, but which should I go with and which will blend the best with the body of the car? 3. Can anyone chime in on the weight of the ROTA GRIDS in 17"? |

You're a noob lmao.
You do know that you posted cars with different wheels and they have diff amounts of spokes right? Rims in first pic are ROTA SDX's(7 spokes).....the second pic is real Volk Te37's(6 spokes) if i'm not mistaken which is what the Rota Grid is a copy of. Buy here Buy Rota Rims, Rota JMAG rims, Muteki Lug Nuts: JLB Motorsports Last edited by thisisdudewhoru; 06-17-2009 at 06:14 AM. |

2600lbs and dropping
![]() |
Not many companies sell Rota, and wheeldude.com normally has the best prices from what I've seen.
17x7.5 Grids weigh 18.5-19lbs depending which site you read The same size Volk TE37's weigh 15.8lbs, fairly significant difference since we're talking unsprung weight. Maybe save up a little more and get a used set of real TE37's? |

yes i know the pics are different. grids=knockoff of the te37 which is why i posted regarding the grids. I just like the style in both pics. ta style? idk..
so go with: 17x7.5 5x114.3 +45mm offset 73mm bore? that fits the best? 18lbs is still better than 23lbs of stock and I plan to save a couple more lbs in the tires. 600shipped for a set of wheels vs 600+shipping for one authentic...thats just me. n i know many of you guys hate rotas, n thats just great. i got other **** to spend my money on. |

The wheels in this picture were TE37s. This was TypeX's car and he would never in a billion centuries put Rotas on his car. EVER. Trust me on this. I know you're using them as reference but they're not Rotas.
God, if Mike were here, he's probably eat you alive just for thinking they were rotas. Lol. |

To the OP- are you lowered on anything? Any wheel is going to look decent at stock height. If you're lowered on anything it will look better. I would suggest if your a good amount lowered and you want good fitment to get around a 35-38 offset. Ususally you wont find Rotas with that offset though. I would also say get them from wheeldude.com. I got my old rotas from there and Zoeb and the other guy(forget his name) are great, and will solve any problems you have. Just call them or email them with your year civic, and they will find what you are looking for. 17x7 is good aswell, I would look at getting a 40ish offset, or lower if you are on coilovers and care about fitment. |

but thanks for everyone who took my thread on something I needed advice with and turned it into a rota bashing contest.
thin skin anyone? lol get over it. ps-thanks to the mods who also had nothing nice to say. way to be hypocritical in your management of a forum. to be honest, i dont care what rims those are in the pictures, i know they are different, i know they are rota sdx and rota grids or their equivalents. just posting what im going for. sorry but couldnt find any fijis with actual grids. and to atruhondagrl, your so helpful. unfortunately without the stickers i couldnt tell what they were without any prior knowledge. but thanks guys! CLOSE! |

lol its fine man, it's just some people HATE replicas and some people like them. It's not just with wheels, it's with every part another company replicates. It's the whole JDM ego thing, and who has the biggest internet ego. I gave you some information on them, I don't know what other kind of info you wanted.
17x7.5 +48 will be fine, but if you are gonna SLAM it you might have trouble with the suspension due to the high offset of the wheels. 17x7.5 +38 you will most likely not have that problem, but this is IF you are slammed or lowered a lot. As for the hub bore, I am not to familar with it, if you contact wheeldude (WHEELDUDE.COM) then he can help you more and if you order from him then he will make sure it's going to fit your FG2. With Rotas it's gonna be hard finding the exact specs you want. I doubt they will have 17x7.5, but they will more than likely have 17x7, and usually don't have the best offsets either. Other companies make TE37 look-a-likes too. Try searching MB weapons. They arn't exactly the same, but some people like them more. Last edited by Emerican; 06-28-2009 at 02:48 AM. |

i agree.
insecure people go overboard and with cars its either their v8s...special parts that they paid 4x for just to have handmade...their special edition mugens...or their special jdm wheels. seriously $650 a wheel. unless your seriously rich which few people on here probably are, thats a ps3 and a few GOOD nights out with your friends on just one wheel that will end up getting stolen or curbed. in all of these cases. nothing else will suffice. INSECURITY at its finest. or just plain being stuck up. |
