New Wheels HFP need Alignment?

So I had some enkei rsv's on my car but took them off due to the offset being 35mm and hitting the outer fender on large bumps. I also experienced wheel shimmy at 65 MPH. I figured it was the rims. On these rims I had Yoko Avid H4's 225/45/17's Brand new. I bought some HFP wheels 17" and still have some shimmy in the wheel. With my Stoc rims and tires I had Zero Shimmy at any speed. Do I need an alignment with new tires and wheels put on? My car only has 3700 miles on it. COuld I of done some damage with the Enkei wheels with them being wrong offset??

I'd take it to the dealer for safe measure. It sounds like the rubbing did do some damage.

It sounds like they weren't balanced properly. If it was alignment the car would pull to one side. All wheels have a heavy spot and so do tires. Sometimes the tire is mounted on the wheel with the heavy spots in the same place and you wind up needing lots of wheel weights to correct the balance issues. If it can't be fixed with wheels weights have the tires unmounted and mounted 180 degrees and have them rebalanced. Hopefully that will work.

I had a similar problem with my 03 EX. A wheel weight had fallen off and the car would shimmy at 65mph just like yours. I had them rebalanced and it rides fine now. You didn't do damage because your stockers ride fine.

Ok wheels have since been rebalanced and it did improve quite a bit. However this weekend I noticed that over 75mph the shimmy is back. Do HFP's need Hubcentric rings? Im getting a lil tired of bringing them back to the Tire ship to rebalance and I think theyre tiredof me too. Should I bring to dealership?

check all the balance weights are still attached. Sometimes they use cheap tape and the weights could fall off, causing shimmy again

make sure that who ever balanced them did it correctly and didnt just static balance them that will cause it also make sure that they used the correct setting on the wheel balancer
