Hankook Optimo H418 tires listed by size
Keep in mind that you'd still have to pay mounting and shipping on top of those prices. |

This is bound to happen when you don't lift a finger to prevent it. All I did is paste your product title into google and found that tire rack sells them, and as previously pointed out, discounttiredirect.
Places like pep boys see you coming. They probably pay as much for these tires as tire rack sells them for, and of course, mark them up heavily. That's all retail establishments are capable of doing these days, since the power of the internet allows anyone to easily find the real deals on a given product. As far as mounting, I live a long way from boston. If there's a discount tire there I'd recommend them, as they are professionals. This is an important factor when considering tire work. But this is really a question for your yellow pages. See what alternatives exist, and call the best looking alternatives. Make sure you clarify with anyone you allow to touch your stuff that if they damage the wheels or tires, if the balance is poor, their compressor fills them with water along with the air, or they damage your wheels, lugs, or hubs from excessive torque upon re-install that you'll be back and they will make it right. Places like discount tire remove these worries. |

I hate Pep Boys when it comes to tires. I worked for them. ( I quite two days ago). The Service Advisers get paid based on percentage of the sale. Most of the time they will charge more just to get more money. I know one guy who charged someone $34 to have the tires mounted.
As for the rebate thing goes. You simply enter in the amount of one tire and mail it too pep boys headquarters. I would not go to Pep Boys to get tires at all. There are much better places to get them. Also, make sure the tires are not old either. Some of the tires at Pep Boys have a pretty old shelf life which can potentially make then dangerous. |

Where in boston are you at? I know Town Fair Tire advertises that they will beat all internet sites' prices (they take into account installation prices also).
So you basically paid 400 for tires, balanced and installed? I dont think thats bad Last edited by asndragonboii; 08-10-2008 at 11:13 PM. |
