Wheels

Just bought an 06 sedan 4 door.

These are my new wheels and will have them mounted this weekend

Rear = (19 x 8.5) 40mm offset (2.7in lip) with 245-35-19 Nitto Envo tire
Fronts = (18 x 8) 40mm offset (1.7in lip) with 225-40-18 Nitto Envo tire

Has anyone done the 18's up front and 19's outback?

You mean vette style? It usually only looks good on Corvettes, Vipers and old muscle cars. Nice rims BTW.

Why are you putting wider rear tires on a front wheel drive car? It will just make it handle worse.

Yeah on my 350z and only because I have several sets of wheels, wth would you do that on a Civic?

You're going to have major understeer, handling and ride will be horrible.

Can you elaborate more on this as to why you think the ride will be horrible? (More side wall) Or is this just your own opinion?

I'm not racing, this is just my "WORK" daily driver car.

Yeah it will probably look cool but don't put wider tires on the rear of a front wheel drive car. It will only make the handling worse and add unnecessary wieght.

Those be some dope wheels. Not agreeing with the wider rears, but you'll see why it's not a good idea when you drive a couple miles on them.

We are talking what an inch? How much can it effect me? I'm not doing this combo to take a corner at 80mph, im doing it to look nice. I'm not going to autoX this 4 door. It is only a work vehicle...No racing..(I'm practically riding on the rim as it is (rubber bands)

So what you are saying is go with a 235 in front and rear of the car. I can still change it today.

wheel front - 18 x 8 tire 235-40-18
wheel rear - 19 x 8.5 tire 235-35-19

I have changed my tires now, this is the new size that will work

thanks guys for the info!!!

This is a front wheel drive Accord with staggard wheels and the same size tire up front and outback, you can tell the tire is stretched outback because they have used the same tire width in the front as well...

I don't think 235/40-18 will fit on the front, too wide. I think the most you can get away with is 225/40-18 and even those rub some times, depending on the tire.
