Oregon Police

Hi! I will be moving to Oregon later this summer and I will be buying a loud exhaust for my car. So I would like to know, How strict are the police in Oregon about loud exhausts? The area I will be in around are Eugene, Corvallis, Salem, and Portland. Thanks

It defiantly puts a giant bullseye on you, anything that calls attention to your car the cops will find an excuses to pull you over for.

Im in Salem and got my plates ran because of my loud pipes.......sadly I was DWS
(driving while suspended) I think that If I wasent DWS he prob let me roll on. 89 db.
is the max how ever I have yet to be pulled over just because of volume.

Ah, my homeland....Oregon. It's kinda the place where you raise your family. Depending on the location, the locals can either be really up tight (like downtown Portland, Salem and Eugene) or kicked back (everywhere else). With any mod, it's more of a reason for cops to pull you over, so just keep it legal. I'm not a big fan of SUPER loud exhausts (just because I lived on a main intersection a couple years ago), but depending on where in Oregon you live will determine how uptight the cops are. If you are in Eastern Oregon, just worry more about running off the road and the cops not caring enough to pull themselves away from their coffee to help you out.

I'm not sure about Corvallis (I know OSU is there). I've never visited.

What are you doing up in the land of Blackberry bushes and constant overcast dreariness?

Got pulled over for rolling through a stop light turning to the right at about 3 in the morning in Vancouver. No one within a mile. The cop asked what type of car I had and was impressed with the dual dash. He takes my reg and espired lic. He comes back. Doesn't even say anything else, but nice car man. Have a nice night.

Had a Spoon N1 on a Civic back in high school. Really loud, could hear the car from a block away. Got pulled over, but no cop ever mentioned the exhaust. Although some cities are more strict about it.
