Okay, went to the Dam this morning and here are the details:

Travel time: 30 min from I215/Warm Springs

Miles: I racked up almost 100 miles of total travel to and around the dam scouting (Round trip) Figure between 80-100 miles for the round trip.

Food: Boulder City has a number FF places, but not so much in the way of 'sit down' place (Chinese, Mexican).

Parking at the Dam: There are several lots on the AZ side of the Dam that would make great picture spots (see below). The problem is by time I got there at 9:30 AM all of the lower lots were full. By the time I left at 10:30 AM the higher lots were rapidly filling up.

This may pose a problem if we plan to meet at 12PM. Figure getting to the Dam at around 1:30 parking may be a big issue, which may make this plan difficult to carry off
So folks may want to think about this before committing to a Dam run (sorry, I'm used to going earlier on other cruises (non-8th forum related).

The lowest lot and the NV-side parking structure may be available, however, they run $7 per car and may offer little in the way of picture opportunities.

Anyway, think about it. If we go earlier it would probably work, but I know you young guys probably did not go to bed until around the time I wake up so 'earlier' may not work for you all. Other options still include a SR159 loop and overlook cruise, VoF, Mt. Charleston (no, there is no snow to worry about), etc.

Nice, thanks for the pics. Maybe it won't be so crowded next weekend since this is Easter Sunday weekend and spring break for a lot of people.

it is spring break and alot more people are in then usual. but that lower parking lot is always full or gets full really fast.

if people want to go to mt charleston, im sure it wouldnt be as hot and also no as snowy as you guys think.
