Jobs in Seattle

Hey All, i am currently living in utah and really want to move up to the seattle area and was wondering if anyone up in that area knows of any job openings in the area?

pay like 12-15 per hour, work i will pretty much do anything as far as work goes ive done construction, metal working like welding and finishing, was a general manager of arbys, done production work, also have done mechanic work went to school for that

working down at the docks looks like it would be kinda cool, but i don't know how to go about doing anything like that

from what i have heard, to work at the docks you need to know somebody. The pay is really good for easy ass work. If youre looking to stay here for a while, since you have welding experiance and construction you could be a pipe fitter. They do the big black water pipes and shitter pipes. Or sheet metal worker. Unions are the way to go here for construction, but you need to get into an apprenticship program and i think theirs are about 5 years, but they start out around 20 bucks an hour on the check. If you work non union you will only make about 10-15 an hour. Just something to look into if your interested in construction. Their top out pay is at 37 an hour now, and it about to go up.

so how would i go about checking out the pipe fitter stuff, i have acually layed pipe before, that is the type of construction i did, as far as the union goes i have no problem with that i just don't know how to go about trying to do this kind of stuff from utah

do a search for seattle/king county (thats where most of the work is) apprentiship programs for pipe fitters. I will ask at work tomorrow what their apprentiship programs internesite is.

You can probably sign up online, but if its anything like the process i did, you have to take tests and an interview after the tests, so you would have to be here for it, and mine took 3 months to get into.

Click on careers and look for Fort Lewis. there is a crapload of machanic Jobs Paying about $20 an hour.
