Si in Summit County, CO

Does anyone live in the Mountain Areas of CO?

I will be in Summit County August 2010 to May of 2011 and I am wondering if I should keep the Civic Si Sedan or move into something 4wd or a truck. I won't live off the main roads and I will drive to Denver Airport every other week.

I am debating on ski rack, 2nd set of oe wheels, snow tires for the Si

or

Scooby, truck, something else

As much as I like my Civic Si, I have thoughts of an A4 or WRX with ski rack..or use it all as an excuse to cure my diesel 4x4 truck longings.

My wife has a 2wd Jeep Commander Hemi, so I will probably replace that with a similar SUV in 4wd for family trips off the beaten path plus all our exploring in August and September. We are a family of 4 so I like to keep one big SUV and one city car or Sedan. I went from Hummer H2 to a civic Si Sedan.

Any thoughts from people in the area would be cool or ideas from Denver people who drive in the traffic back and forth to ski.

My past trips to Summit Cty have been in Legacy GT, Montero, MDX(2wd). Only the MDX was a little bit of an issue when a truck stopped in front of us on a hill and we had hard time getting going again, but I think it just had all seasons on it.

Sometimes I even think USED MINIVAN , but I could let the winter give it the beating and then just resell it and get something nice when I get back to the South (I live in Alabama, my Honda employed neighbors turned me on to the Si in the first place). Minivans seem like they would be easier for all the ski gear and kids.
Thanks
