Arrow FHR Group + Colorado = PICTURES!!! :D

hello all... rather than clutter the handful of chat threads i post on regularly, figured it'd be better to just start my own thread.

this is my first REAL decently long trip. left Orlando, FL October 30th & rode a 4-hour Southwest airlines flight out to Albuquerque, NM with 1 other co-worker (Denise) & my bosses wife (Lynn).

picked up our rental car ('08 red Chevy Impala sedan 4-cyl for the gas mileage) from Alamo & began our trek north from NM into CO about 350+ miles or so.

we are staying barely 12 miles into suuuper south Colorado in a lil mountain town called Trinidad--basically the foothills of the Rocky Mountain range. i guess its a historically significant city from what i've seen & read. meh, whatever. seeing REAL mountains & surrounding terrain is just simply awe-inspiring. all i've ever seen before this would be the Appalachian Mountain range in the southeast United States. anywho, ive been super busy with this new start-up contract here in Colorado @ the Mount San Rafael Hospital a couple miles from our hotel. however... tomorrow (Sunday) we are traveling about 2 hours north of here to visit Pikes Peak, CO for the day which should be pretty freakin' amazing if i'm honest. 14,000+ feet of vertical elevation.

well, here's the pics for now. first set is my iPhone 3G & second set is from my Nikon CoolPix 4300 point & shoot.

enjoy & comment if you like.
my co-workers fly back out Wednesday November 5th & im gonna be sticking around by myself to work @ the hospital establishing the new account & training a new hire permanent employee that lives here locally until November 25th.

~Joey

pics coming soon.. almost done uploading.

yeah man.... if you drive up to Holler Honda where its being basically held captive while they work out how f*cking retarded they are for trying to DENY my HFP sports-suspension warranty claim.

loooooooooooooong story & if you want details research the Orlando chat thread over the past couple of posts by myself & Angel for example.

im sad & i miss the SH!T outta my beautiful RRFA5 already.

only seen ONE single Civic Si while ive been over here. crazy!! & go figure, it was a RRFA5 bone stock upon leaving the Albuquerque Sunport in New Mexico. looked very dusty & was parked in a business office complex it looked like. haven't seen an Si since & pretty much this Trinidad town is full of those st00pid-ass skittles (Dodge Neon SRT4-thefails)... in ONE night last night i spotted EIGHT of them in all the "taste the rainbow" colors.

oh dear. talk about your WORST timing EVER!
i think its being warrantied & parts will be here Thursday. & i think Ron is allowing Angel to be authorized to take care of things while im gone.

i just dunno how my struts can go bad & me not notice. im not a complete MORON.

very strange.

i fly into Albuquerque, NM & will take the 3.5 hour drive on the meandering interstate system into CO.

p.s.- finally completed the packing ordeal. took about an hour & 30 minutes but wooo, im all done.

i just wonder WHAT i forgot?

it really could NOT be in better hands honestly.

over the course of the last HOUR 3 in my room & 4 in their room. we got switched to rooms next door.

im pissed cuz i want to SLEEP & its already 1220AM my time here & i have to be up & outta here WORKING @ the hospital 10/15 minutes away for 8AM my time. thankfully bosses wife personally knows some1 @ HP Corporate & is going to get a new cord for me heavily discounted she says. its overnighted. im here TOO long to be without any connection to the outside world. if it were just the weekend, i wouldn't even worry about it until i got home back to FL.

sooooo crappy y0!

p.s.- i will have NO laptop as of the end of this battery's charge. the first bug in my room flew RIGHT past my ear when i was sitting enjoying "The Office" freaked me the f*ck out & i dropped my laptop. it was charging & OF COURSE it landed charging cord down & f*cked up my jack on the charger. so im up a sh!t-creek ATM w/ no charger for the laptop. phone is too slow here w/o 3G & the wireless here is funny on the phone but perfect on the laptop. go figure.

/endsuperpissedrant

g'night all! i wish it were snowing cuz that runs ALL the bugs out of the area. it is currently 51 degrees outside here.

its super nice too! i took pics of the room & when i find the time i will post them up.

2 beds
microwave
fridge
plenty of lighting
roughly 30"-ish LG flat screen
free wireless high-speed/broadband internet (unsecured)
2 nightstands
big drawers in a dresser type thing (rem. im here 25 days!)
big full size mirror
closet
real nice larger than expected bathroom/shower
iron & ironing board
all the amenities & toiletries you can shake a stick @.

its very nice... its just my luck i guess.

i still cannot believe we almost DIED today in NM tho sh!t was insane!!

the short story is Lynn (bosses wife) was driving & i guess getting tired/tunnel-vision. she was going almost 105mph not realizing she's coming up on a car in our lane PRETTY quick, we mention to slow down (there is the left lane blocked ahead due to construction but no ppl around... cones slowly closing off the lane over a few thousand feet) she SPEEDS up to go past 2 other cars on the road PLUS a f*cking u-haul.

it seriously must have been an inch to either side of a barricade or the cars we passed. she freaked out after coming-to & realizing what happened. started to get dizzy from the adrenaline-rush i suppose & the car started to drift into the "rumble strips" on the shoulder

by this time Denise & i are like LYNNNNNNNNNNN WHAT THE F*CKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!?????

she slams on the brakes & comes to a stop. gets out & starts crying. needless to say, i drove the last 200 or so miles thru NM & 11 miles into CO to our hotel. it was a bit "quiet" the rest of the trip.

that's the kinda sh!t i cannot ever txt cuz of the signal fading in & out plus the Safari browser shutting off randomly over & over.

INSANE NO?
& ppl usually worry about AIR-travel. *sheesh!!*

p.s.- Jen is confirmed alive. she txt'd me about 3 miles into Colorado to say hi on a quick break @ work.
txting while driving thru mountain passes is a biiit tricky

dude, if you're ever in the mid-west you'll see what i mean. road as far as the eye can see & further. after a few hundred miles without breaks you tend to catch "tunnel-vision" & distorts your perception. sometimes we'd go for like half an hour without even SEEING another car on the road anywhere. lots of cops but seemed like they weren't overly concerned. weird.

*Pontiac G6 (my choice out of ALL the options)
*Chevy HHR
*Chrysler PT Cruiser
*Kia Rondo

we get out to the lot LOOKING for a Pontiac G6 sedan... NOT EVEN ONE (usually first choice we were later told)

Lynn picks the Kia Rondo (OMGGGGGG FAIL!!), i protest as does Denise.
we settle that the PT is terrible & HHR was lesser of all the evils. plenty of dings & scratches/chips to document. we do so & are leaving the lot when the lower dash trim under the steering wheel just all of a sudden drops to the floorboard onto Lynn's feet.

turn back around & loop around the airport back to the rental place. show it to the guy on-duty... he apologizes laughs a lil & offers to upgrade us to the full-size Impala free of charge (didnt mention any other full-size so we didn't push our luck much here). mind you, the sh!t-HHR BARELY fit everything in the trunk & the backseats as it is.

i picked out a 4-cyl (for gas purposes) red (i looked for white to be non-descript but no dice kids ) Chevy Impala (2008) w/ a spoiler... wrote down all the scratches & the chip in the windshield & we were on our way. ALL of our luggage fit in the trunk w/o issue.

little did i know the Impala on the highway was rattle-ly, vibration anywhere near 80mph, & drove like a sinking ship... the car could not take turns for beans. it was hilarious.

& my co-workers WONDERED why i asked if we coulda gone Enterprise or Hertz (they rent Hondas!!!!)

Hondas > *......... even in the rental car world.

man, this trip has been one adventurous-catastrophe after another. *yikes!!*

lol dealer trade type of drive from HELL much?!? hahahahhahahahah chevy fail. LOL!! i still think it will be 10x better by myself... no cigarettes, no breaks, no pullovers unless i absolutely feel i need to stretch or just chill for a bit. will be nice.

it vibrated that much? that sucks dude reminds me of the versa. started to vibrated violently once i hit 70. and the steering wheel would shack alot and i had to counter steer constantly cause of the huge turning angle it had

yeah i think suspiciously of either the alignment and/or the tires. lol!
the car is TRASHED already on the exterior. thank GOD its NOT a Honda or else id feel pretty bad for the poor car.

seems as tho there will likely NEVER be a dull-moment in the duration of this trip for the 3 of us & then just me alone here. i want a guest...

goodnight Jen & Jackie & any/all lurkers within the next couple of minutes. ill try to keep tabs on the 8th w/ the iPhone from time to time but its not nearly as easy or reliable as a desktop or laptop. Friday will be the first REAL day of work @ the hospital. we'll see how that all goes i guess in a few short hours.

found out some things today tho:
*very attractive in a "girl next door" sorta way; she does not look even REMOTELY close but she's 32
*married, 2 girls (cute lil girls too... saw them trick or treating @ the hospital lobby on our way out this evening)
*originally from right here in Trinidad, CO, moved to North Las Vegas for three years but is now back out in the mountains about to close on a house in a week outside of the "town" of Trinidad.
*LOOOOOOOOVES rock music & attended many concerts w/ her oldest daughter while living in Vegas. (especially Rise Against, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Metallica, Bullet for my Valentine... the ones she mentioned)
*barely over 5' tall
*brown hair & big brown eyes

the BAD news is... after going out to lunch this afternoon thanks to Lynn & Denise; she is a "closet smoker"
didn't do it while pregnant, doesn't do it at all @ work or carry anything around, only in the comfort of her home. unfortunately having 2 other smokers around, she was urged to "have one" and that is exactly how i found out... the hard way

suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper unattractive to me. nice girl but definitely not interested now.

im picky when it comes to your healthy or unhealthy habits. its just how i roll i guess.

Hold on all of those things were describing Nicole right?

Joey lol dont be so picky. At least be her friend, maybe she will introduce somoene to you or soemthing.

And man I'm lame staying home on Holloween. There are tons of parties but I'm just not in the party mood these days. Guess cause my party buddies all left me =( And went to Orlando.

Oh Joey my friend that is there for college was telling me how Orlando law on modding your car is pretty strict. They give ppl tickets for having too loud of a car. Apparently my friend has been pulled over a few time for hi bike already. But he told them he doesnt live there so cant apply tto him. So they let him go.

the reason Denise prolly WONT be leaving is cuz things arent going smoothly & they will likely assume/know that im not 100% confident in being here alone to work + training the perm. FHR employee that lives here & will work @ the hospital M-F.

not to mention co-workers = a big time no-no. i was just sharing b/c i thought it was a small-world w/ all the common interests we shared & LOL @ her being from North LV for that matter. hahahhahahaa

she also said she doesn't do it in front of her kids. which was nice and considerate of her if she MUST feel she needs to smoke.

i will be nothing but nice to her no doubt. she's a mad cool chick & has a great personality... she's definitely worth looking @ that's for sure. lol but that's where it ends.

ugh, does ANYONE around here NOT smoke but me?!??
the thing to do in this part of CO im noticing: smoke, drive a truck or other 4x4 vehicle, NEVER EVER EVER wash it (LOL!!), & i dont see too much in the way of TURN SIGNALS either. hardly ANY cops on a good point tho.

but yeah Steve, i wish i were at LEAST in Colorado Springs... cuz then i could trek north a bit to see this beautiful Mt. Evans you speak of. i googled it & its 3.5 hrs north me.

the so-called mountains around this part of CO are merely foothills of the BASE of the Rockies it seems to me. elevation is a mere 5,000ft on a sign i saw. 5000ish i should say... i dont recall exact.

Mt. Evans is like 14,000ish or so IIRC. i googled it & there a scenic mountain pass paved road that goes like 28 miles & climbs some ridiculous elevation in such a short period of time. just like you said the HIGHEST "paved road" in all of the United States. that's pretty f*cking cool if you ask me!!!

anywho, just watchin' Carson Daly Last Call (why you ask?? i have no idea). he looks like a giant douchebag dressed like grapes for Halloween. lol fail.

thanks for the comment Steve... im sorta hoping for that as well. this Colorado stuff isn't as easy as "they" made it out to be when i was considered first for the job. figures... there's regular Colorado Medicaid, Commercial Insurance if they have it, setup a payment plan with the patient for balance after insurance has paid, & a 3rd program for assistance here locally called Colorado Indigent Care Program & so far, its maaaaaad confusing.

so im hoping Saturday (sooo ga_y to have to work on a Saturday cuz normally its business hours M-F) i learn a lot more & start to get comfortable using the program called HMS to work these accounts that keep piling up each day that "Kevin" is still around but doing nothing of any consequence so far as work is concerned. anything but really. waste of breath @ this point.

so sleepy. yuck!!

Turns out the Manager "forgot" having the conversation with him a bout having the car serviced. Well it winds up being his HFP Suspension. They say they need receipt for it to proof and will order new one. I provided that for them since Joey is in CO. Then they call back and ask where we had it installed. I asked why does that matter? The kit is plug n play what would ne one do to it to cause it to be defective? hes like oh well Honda doesnt want to pick up the tab for someone elses mistake. IM like WTF.. a 5 yr old could do this with his eyes closed, you take the old one out n put the new one in, its plug n play.

If they dont wind up covering this im going to the parts manager and telling him they will never get my business again. and trust me I bring them a lot.

I will be going to classic from now on or just to Billy and buying my parts else where just to piss them off

Those are cliffnotes, it'd take me too long to explain.

The S. advisors don't have to deal with this, they still get paid at the end of the day, whereas the service manager has to keep these costs down as it's his job.

I under stand that.. BUt I talked to him when I had my 2000 accord. The car was modded and never been serviced by Honda and was 3500 miles over the warranty and got me more than half off on the tranny installed with labor.

I think he can afford to replace two shock top mounts. All it is is the top mounts not even the struts or springs

to make matters worse, it has been anything BUT smooth here on this new contract. i won't go into it but its just bogus. add to that the TERRIBLE signal even for AT&T Wireless of all ppl.... the ENTIRE trip here was awesome. never had an issue w/ signal landing in ABQ. got our rental & started driving thru NM CO-bound... full bars (no 3G network whatsoever out here in the mid-west i guess?) the "EDGE" network was active so it was alright. then we get into CO & everything is business as usual. time/timezone is correct & everything, signal is fine too.

sometime around sundown Thursday night everything went to sh!t. had to move MY room around 11PM my time cuz of some unknown flying/biting bugs (this hotel is FOUR months old only!! tho there is a LOT of construction & the state SHOULD be covered in snow @ this point in the calendar year but it has been unseasonably WARM for some strange reason *coughglobalwarningcouhg*), it got PRETTY cold & windy here last night. couldn't sleep for sh!t. broke my charger cord for the laptop when one of those bugs flew by my ear while i was on the laptop watching The Office..... which ROYALLY sucks cuz i have to be able to pay bills & whatnot. about the time i went to bed the signal was like a bar & "GRPS" is the only internet connection network available (one step below EDGE & 2 steps below 3G)... the wireless is great here but it was acting up as well.

woke up Friday morning (today) & i haven't been able to get a signal to save my life (we're not "IN in" the mountains either mind you. barely 11-12 miles into CO at all. my timezones are all f*cked up & keep switching so im not even sure the correct time w/o a hotel clock or tv handy.

its just been a mess. the hospital's previous client STILL hasn't moved all his sh!t out so we have NO phone or office to make calls from. DAY three is coming soon. first day "OFF" if you wanna call it that will be Sunday.

likely the 2nd person will be staying another week instead of leaving on the 5th with Lynn (bosses wife) which pisses me off cuz i want alone time to just BE ya know; drive around, explore, find mountain roads to cruise, just enjoy being myself around myself kinda stuff. oh & she's a heavy smoker, older, very hard-headed personality.

oh lord, i could go on and on and on forever... but i just wont. this Holler business sh!t is just the icing on the sh!t-cake of my life as of current. im just over it. period!

peace, off to the ladies' room to order dinner i guess. hope you all are having a nice Halloween & be safe out there.

im using a "Compaq" charger @ the moment from one of the co-workers. oddly it fits. my "jack" was bent & broken when i freaked out cuz of the bugs. it was sitting in my lap while i was watchin' tv & landed on the floor jack-side down.

sh!t's ridiculous.

i swear to EVERYTHING HOLY if there is anything even REMOTELY wrong or different about my car the next time i see it, im going to be livid with Holler Honda & more personally, with Mr. Aaron Barta.

that's all im gonna say on that. i know that Kyle is cool with everything & i think so is Ron.

Angel, if you can do me a SOLID & next time you go deal with them or drive by the area can you PLEASE just go by & be absolutely certain the car is locked and/or in a "safe" place like an end spot or curb. i absolutely hate being utterly powerless in this situation & "just a car" may not mean much to some but it means the WORLD and beyond to me personally.

i know you understand without hesitation as im sure Matt does too for example just off the top of my head.

& honestly, had i KNOWN in advance this was going to be such a f*cking nightmare i wouldnt have even given a 2nd thought to dropping the car off there at all. im sorry about this. i would have rather left the car in my garage @ home with my semi-trusting roomie caring for it & MAYBE remembering to start it. the LEAST of my concerns at this point i think in retrospect.

im gonna blow a head gasket soon on this sh!t.

lol!!! thanks Jesse... it took THREE solid days to finally start to loosen up & things are finally getting a bit more on track w/ the MSRH contract thank God. we are HIRING the new employee (female apparenly...) Monday morning but she has to give her 2-weeks @ her current teacher-job. so here's the even BETTER news now.

BOTH Lynn AND Denise will be leaving as planned it looks like at this moment on Nov. 5th. which is doubly awesome cuz i get to do my weekend driving around free of any smokers and/or backseat drivers... i only have to drive back out to Albuquerque 2 more times (once to drop them off, the other to go home myself) instead of THREE if Denise had to stay another week with me.
