Question for the Seattle to Vancouver folks.

What's the weather like up in your neck of the woods? I leave for Seattle tomorrow and have never been there. I currently live in the hottest city in Texas. The temps here have been getting into the 90s since early March. My closet is full of capris and light teeshirts. I'm the kind of person who wears a sweatshirt when the temps are in the mid 60s. Anyway, what's the weather like and what should I bring.

i dont quite know what 60'F is but its supposed to be quite warm in van for the next while! (the week's forecast is all sunny and 20+, except for maybe sunday?)

It isn't very humid at all, so all you feel is the sun + cool breeze!
I'd say your capris and tees would be perfect, just bring a light jacket for the nights, they sometimes get a bit chilly

Like PK says, bring a couple light jackets/sweaters for the evenings. I'd bring some jeans just in case... it can be deceptively cold sometimes as we have really weird weather.

Also, sandals/flip-flops work great for the day, but bring some runners/casuals in case it rains.

Enjoy the northwest!

Weather should be pretty good!
What do you plan on doing in Seattle? If you like shopping, I personally like going to Bellevue Mall or Downtown Seattle when I go across the border.

Thanks, Sleepy. :) Unfortunately, we've been told we can not go across the border on this trip because they don't want us getting held up. Okay. Sure. That's the Navy for you. But I will be at Fort Lewis for 2 months from late August to October so I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to get up there.

Well, I'll be in town for training with the Navy but I should have evenings off to enjoy things. My 2 goals are Pikes Place for coffee ( i have a nasty Starbucks addiction) and the Space Needle. I'm saving Mt Rainer for next month.

Can't be any worse than here right now. Courtesy of the hurricane left overs, it's been overcast and raining since Wed. Windy and unusually cool. WEll today it's hot and humid. lol

Fort Lewis is in Tacoma..

- There's alot of places that you can go around here. I know on Aug 9th theres a drift event. Some of the guys in the WA thread are planning to go and I think it might be planned as a meet- Maybe.
- The new re-model Southcenter mall will be opened tomorrow. I beleived its 2-3 stories.

Lol on the no clothes part. I know the west is more liberal than the steak and potato consuming land where I currently reside but I think my naked ass would be enough to turn even the most democratic city into staunch conservatives.

I think Ft Lewis is in Tacoma. I'm not exactly sure.

Having spent enough time on our regular beaches, I do not want to see the average American's pasty, lumpy, roll filled body in the buff. I'd rather choke on blood sausage. I'll keep the permit. SOrry. lol.

Now if American's looked more like Europeans, I'd probably trade. I miss European beaches.

Ahhh nice. I spent a few days on the artillery range in Ft. Lewis. I don't know about the Navy, but I had to eat American rations/kitchen food for 3 days and it was horrible!! Green scrambled eggs... almost made me throw up

Oh, try to get out to this place called that specializes in seafood. For the life of me, I can't remember what it's called... the Crab Bucket? Something like that... it's near the water in Seattle. Tasty crab. They give you a bucket of crab legs, a mallet and a plastic covered table. Tasty chaos ensues!

I hear ya there, I love my european woman. I can't be really bothered to go to the nude beaches here, my friends go when ever they have a second.

You have to jump through major hoops to even get a hand gun in canada, long gun is a few tests and a couple of bucks.

I was in the reserves for awhile. Long story short, my test score qualified me for any combat trade and I was going to choose Intelligence but they were all the way in west van, so I joined an artillery unit close to my house hehe :)

Regarding the fire arms license... the main reason that I didn't bother getting mine wasn't tests/course/money... it's the fact that I can't get anything cool. I don't care about stupid hunting rifles or sport shooting rifles... I want my assault rifles and sub-machine guns!!!

It's not sold yet, just in storage to be sold. Thanks. I'll let you know when I'm available. Same to you , Sleepy.

Rationed food? That's when I try out anorexia.

The fun thing about training is lots of weaponry.
