Yeah when I tell people they ussually think i am lying to them or they just laugh for five minutes straight. But I've only heard good things, like one guy who served their told me that he only had to buy his own groceries twice, and their isn't a whole lot of tracking, mostly reactivation. Also I will be working with a lot of international missionaries. I think the only downside is their will be a lot of people that absolutely hate me, I expect to get stuff thrown at me from people driving by and to be harassed. Still I'm excited, except for the utah Heat; I'm from Cali so I can take it, but maybe not walking around and in slacks and shoes (as opposed to sandals).

I think that SLC would be a cool mission, just kind of strange. You will definitely eat well; people love to feed the missionaries. Some restaurants even let missionaries eat free, or at a discount.

Do you know how big of an area your mission covers? Will you be going to the MTC in Provo, or somewhere in Cali?

SLC will be different in that the church isnt foreign, but there are plenty of people to convert, more non-members in SLC than members. But yeah, dont expect on buying groceries or paying for lunch very much. You'll do a lot of walking though, they walk all over the place cause they have smaller areas I think. My areas were 3 hours wide by car(I'm lucky, had a car my entire mission). I'm a RM myself btw, served in Canada Toronto West Mission - best thing I ever did. I'm not a stereotypical utah mormon though, dont identify with most of them... hehe.

Anyway, yeah we need to get a meet up. Anyone else here have an Si with any mods? My car's actually in the shop right now if u can believe that, have a problem with my tranny, shouldnt be a big deal though.

ps. congrats on the call - you're gonna love it.

I have an 06 Si, but I don't have any mods and I am not planning on doing any anytime soon. What happened to your tranny?

No mods?! What? hehe... This is why you buy an Si man! You gotta at least do some interior/exterior non-performance mods. I only have an intake and JDM emblems right now.

I got my car back finally. My tranny makes a whistling sound in 4th gear and lighter in a couple other gears. I guess the mechanic @ larry Miller honda in murray called and the model tech for Honda said that the sound is characteristic of these models. I went for a ride with the shop foreman and we got in a new 2007 2door Si and drove it and the sound was also in the new transmission, not as loud as it is in mine, but was still there. it doesn't affect anything and hasn't gotten louder... so he was figuring it was just the machined gear. I'm just gonna watch it and if any problems arise I'm gonna take it back in. I don't want my tranny rebuilt if I don't have to... especially for something that probably isnt even an issue. So we'll see... besides that I got the reflash for the rev-hang, a reflash for gas mileage(go get yours done if u havent, I didnt even know about it), also got the recall for the srs sensor done. My steering wheel was making a clicking sound when I turned it, so got that fixed. I also had a squeek when I went over bumps, especially when colder, on my what I thought was the shocks. Turned out to be a motor mount replacement. The steering wheel fix was just a bolt that had to be torqued down. They also did about 10 other reflashes that I dont know what they were for.

I have noticed that my car is driving/shifting smoother as a result however, so I think all the reflashes affected something.

Anywho... so there's the 411 on my repairs/issues. Anyone else have an Si besides Crippy? What color is your Si? I've been holding off on other mods until I got these issues fixed, so I'm going to go to town now on modifications.

I plan to keep my Si as stock looking as possible. I am going to tint and change wheels, lower a bit, other than that it will be stock looking. I love the design and dont think some crappy rice body kit improves what Honda has already done.

Well, I did do an interior mod or maybe two. I replaced the factory radio with a Pioneer AVIC D3 Navi and tinted my windows. It looks so HOT! Oh man, I hope your tranny its ok! I haven't experienced the whistling sound or perhaps I haven't noticed anything. So what's this reflash for the rev hang and the gas milage? I haven't had that done becasue I've never heard of it. I want to keep my Si (by the way the color is galaxy grey)as stock as possible too that's why i don't want to do any significant mods to it. I have the HFP kit in my car and that adds to the looks of the vehicle. I have a 1992 Acura Integra and I made a LOT of mistakes as far as mods with that car and I am not going to make the same mistakes with my civic. Body Kit, exhaust, drop2.5" front and rear, etc. and I grew out of all that crap and I began to hate my car ). Now I am planning on redoing my whole Integra because I hate it. I've considered adding new wheels and lowering it a little bit, but I don't want to dump it to the ground like I did to my Integra.

07 si here. i've been looking at these forums for about 2 weeks and didnt bother to see if anyone else was from slc... no mods since the car is new... problems with the car though /sigh. you'd think buying a new car from honda releases all worries of problems, but think again...

We should start an official Houston v. Utah Playoffs thread.
I thought you guys had home court for sure, but then yall lost 4 in a row and we took the lead. This should be a very interesting playoff series. I have season tickets so I'll be there. That's why I want home court so bad.
