Si Vs. Rsx type S

k, heres the scoop. Im new to this site, and im gettin headaches bc, i cant decide what car to buy. so i came here for some help and suggestions. please no flaming

My 2 choices are
06 SI or 06 Type S

i have driven the SI but not the type S. Of course the SI is about 3k or 4k more than the SI, but thats not much of an issue.

Please tell me some pros and cons of each car, which is easier to work on, and ultimately which is faster in stock form, assuming both have good drivers. thanks a lot guys.

They both have similar engines, the RSX has the K20Z1 with 201hp, the Si has the K20Z3 with 197hp. They both have the same redline. The RSX has a spiffier interior with leather and auto climate control but the RSX is an older design. They also have the same brakes and 17 inch wheels with the same size tires. The RSX is a hatch back while the 06 Si is a coupe with a trunk.
Basically they are the same car but the Si is a newer design so I would go with it.

well, i would go with the Type-s if i want straight line advantage, and the Si if i want both twisty and some straight line powers.

No flamming intended. Both are great cars IMO. People bitch about the third gear in the SI but some, not all dealerships, fix the problem under warranty. The type S is about 3-4k more. Why? I dont really know. People claim the SI isnt fast but fail to realize what they paid for is NOT a "fast" car. Some would argue that the interior of the type S is a bit better but thats all in their opinion. The Si is a very fun car to drive and is an excellent Daily driver IMO, As with the type S. I have driven both and like my SI better because of obvious reasons. one, I think the SI is "more" car for the money. two, I think the Si is quicker. and three, I love the overall feel of the car. Now The type S has a lil more in terms of aftermarket parts, but thats only because R&D for ours hasnt really been perfected. And K-pro does miracles for the type s. but to answer your last question, the SI is faster than the type S in stock form by maybe less than 1/2 a car length(considering both are good = drivers). But in any other situation it would be a drivers race.

how about workin on each car? ive always worked on b-series on eg/ek/dc2/da. so the area is pretty big, while the area from what i seen in the Si, looked pretty crowded. Whats easier to work on? Type S or SI?

The RSX got more room in the engine compartment, but if you find the Si imposible to work in, stay away from "do it urself"!
