2008 or 2009? Which do I get
So I'm ready to buy another Si now. I was going to wait until the end of April but now I'm debating whether I should wait for the 2009 refresh or get the 2008 knowing I can probably get a lower price on the 2008. I really don't want to wait till September or later since I'm selling my bike this spring and I don't want to go without something fun to drive this summer.
For those of you who don't know I sold my '06 Si last March for a couple of reasons and got a Mazda 6. I started a poll and wanted to see what others thought. Rasky ![]() |

My Mazda has been a great car but it's just SOOO boring to drive! I could deal with it having a bike to ride and abuse when I needed to relax and just get away but since I'm selling that I need a car that is fun and I loved my Si! I'm open to color options but I'm leaning towards FBP or NHBP. I'll get rid of the 6. |

Whichever one you can get a better deal on, barring something that comes out with the '09 that is an absolute 'must have'.

Ugh, I'm somewhat in the same position as you are here. I'm contemplating trading in (maybe replacing with another Civic, but probably not an Si), but I don't want to do that until I see what the refresh does to the car. If I don't like the wheels or changes made, I'll just get an 08, but...
That's a hard call. I really don't know.

Chad, for my part, I would love to see you get into an Si ASAP. I love your Mazda and all that, but would love to see another Si when we Minnesotans get together for a meet.
Unfortunately, info has been sketchy at best regarding what will come out in '09. The car would be do for some refreshening as some have said. I can't see any major changes though to the car or drivetrain. This is a hard choice indeed. One thing to consider is that since the transportation bill that the Democrats got passed in the Mn. Legislature, license fees are going to go up substantially on new cars. The law will go into effect in May I believe. It could end up costing you a few more hundred dollars to get your new car licensed. Also, the sales tax will be raised, I believe either a quarter or half percent. That alone could make a big difference in what you pay out the door. Something to think about.

I'm currently getting a new steering wheel put in (as my blasted audio control/cruise control trim is falling off) and a horrid rattle in the back deck fixed. Now if I could only do something about the creaking from the plastic on the armest/driver's seat...
