Angry POPO Pulled Me Over!!!

****.. today i was going 60 in a 45, and i am always scanning side by side so i can watch out for cops. and after 3 years of driving, i made the BIGGEST mistake of my life, i was very depressed today, and i was looking down at the road instead of scanning, and all of a ***** sudden a cop in his bike locked me going 60. DAMN!!! anyway, is there anything i can do so i can lower the ticket, i know i can take traffic school, but i want to lower the ticket by alot.

thanks for your help guys.

ps: i live in socal, how much is 15 over the limit.

Show up to court... usually when you plead guilty they will lower it ~50%. Then take traffic school so you don't get it on your record.

You can go to traffic school every 18 months for tickets...Hard to say what the fine will be. It depends on your prior convictions...I'd expect 150-250

when i get a ticket i go to court either they 1) lower it to parking on pavement or something similar or 2) make u take traffic school if its ur first one for speeding i think

No, you goto court and plead guilty/not guilty (there will be many others there that day). If you plead guilty, you pay the fine (generally lowered if you are nice and polite) and take traffic school (if applicable). If you plead not guilty, they setup a court date and at that point if the cop does not show up, you're off the hook. If he/she does show up, and you win you're golden. If you lose I believe you forfeit any chance of lowering the ticket and/or traffic school

dont plead not guilty.. the cop only needs to show up to the next hearing if you do.. And at that point, you will pay the full fine....no chance for reduction.. go to the court, plead guilty, and take what the judge deals.. as long as you do not have a record he will drop the fine almost in half in most cases.. Do the traffic school and get that bad boy off your record.. pleading not guilty is if you are really not guilty or its a questionable call... good luck with it and see ya this weekend!

it depends really. judges mood, your previous record, etc. i can tell you, you can also plead non contested. i recently got a speeding ticket, 72 in a 50 work zone. but i was very respectful to the officer and didnt argue and had my ticket in hand in about 8-9 mins. but the officer did remember that, in fact had wrote that on the ticket and told the judge that and recommended a reduced speed or 6-9 month probation. the judge asked why i was speeding and told him i was afraid i would be late for work and where i work they are very strict on attendance policy. judge lowerd it to 69 in a 50 and i think my ticket ended up being 172 or so. make sure you dress nice as well, some judges dont like jeans or somebody looking like a hobo showing up in court. i wore a nice shirt tucked in and some khakis. and if the officer doesnt show up in court then yes most likely it will be dropped. they usually take the cops that work the midnight shifts first and also check to make sure your on the docket for that day, usually about a week or before your court date you can call the circuit court. sometimes you can check it online too, i know we can here in va. but good luck to ya.

i got caught doing 77 on a 50, ticket was about $270, went to court, and they pulled it down to $100 and only a minor speeding in my license

so i'd say go to court, what do you have to lose?

15 over is 15 more then you should have been going! Lol.

Live, learn and move on. The first time it's a mistake, the second time it's your own damn fault.

IMO, you were speeding so just pay and move on.
