DRL do draw a slight amount of power. Which would slighlty decrease MPG.

Stand next to a Civic that has an exhaust system or uses a scangaugeII. With the engine running you can notice any electrical load placed on the system. Even a flip of the wipers causes a blip in RPMs. The defroster and headlights make a pretty big difference.

But I like the saftey of DRL and would rather not get in a wreck verse gain .5 mpg.

its not about the MPG.
the DRL stay on when the parking lights are on, but once the low beams come turn on, the DRL turns off.
now lets say for some reason you want to drive around with your fog lights on w/o your headlights, that means you will have the DLR lights on, parking lights on, and the fog lights. ugly lighting combination if you ask me.

i just dont like the way they look. dim headlights FTL...
