Shaq is a Phoenix Sun

ESPN reports that barring a physical wednesday, Shaq is being traded to the suns for marion and banks. A big man has been their missing link!

That would be one of the dumbest trade suns did.

Shaq already passed his prime time. And how he's doing this year. Avg. 11 points per game. His lowest average of his career.

OMG!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I hope this doesn't happen. Suns are a running team. Replace Marion with Shaq? I am a big Suns fan, but if they make the trade, I almost hope that it will come back to haunt them!!

If the Suns don't win it all this year or next year, they are done for a while. Nash will probably be a Sun for a max of another 2 years. When Nash is done, the Suns will have to find another identity. Damn, I can't believe they did this!

Marion wanted to be traded before the season even began. At least now he ll be happy, and you watch Shaq will win the Suns a champoinship

Wow. Sounds like a great deal for Miami. But we'll find out who gets a better end of this deal at the end of the season. Very interesting trade indeed.

as a laker fan - this is great!! two great deals in one week

suns pulled a "knee jerk" move after the lakers trade for Pau.

can't wait to see the sun set!!

he can still dominate if healthy. what i dont understand is what his role will be to a system that has a running game? this system work wonders for them for a while now and adding shaq means they will have to slow down things to be able to compensate shaq's inside game (and slow running). there will be major adjustments no doubt and doin that in the middle of the season will have some consequenses.

but i welcome the trade with all my heart... i like the LAKERS' chance right now to advance to the next round.

There has to be another good reason why they made this trade?

This is exactly what I was telling my friend last night. She told me of it, and we speculated that:
1. Shaq will be terrible for the Suns' running game.
2. The Heat will not have the Big Guy for less interior presence
3. Shaq *should* be traded to the Suns, slowing down the running game
4. Lakers will be in good standing to do really well in the season/playoffs because Gasol rounds out the team and fuses well, considering his one game with them so far.
5. Lakers have a chance of winning it all.

(Yes, I'm somewhat a Lakers fan)

shaq won't get the playing time of a full time center. He would be a good match up against teams like the spurs.

i love Steve Kerr and all...but hes f**kin it up as a general manager like my boy Paxson for my Bulls. stupid trade. 2 more years including this year for $20 million each year....thats crazy....and stupid. This trade is pretty much done, unless Shaq has a broken hip.

Gasol to the Lakers...this make the Lakers the top team in the league...now thats a steal.

shaq to gaurd duncan, that is reason enough for a trade. the suns were not good enough to win the big one w/out someone to guard duncan, and get boards.

they gave up a guy who's fully developed and on top of his game right now in exchange for a guy who's on the downside with knee injury...

but honestly, i still think he's got couple more years left in him.

i hope everything works out for both teams. i dont wanna see somebody gets fired because of some stupid decision...
just because you see the other competing team make a good trade doesnt mean you also have to follow and trade one of your best players!

Well, this is quite similar to Kareem and the 80's showtime Lakers. You didn't really see Kareem running fast breaks with Magic, Worthy, Scott, and Green, did you? Most of the time was rebound Kareem, then ball was passed to Magic for the fast break. So, the Sun could still be a threat. We shall see.
