Hmm. I don't know much about scientology but from what I've seen it is a pretty crazy cult comparable to that of what Jim Jones was trying to create. I bet it was just some goofy bored kid trying to see if he could freak out the already paranoid.

Is it the Anonymous as in 4chan anonymous or just in general, because ive seen 4chan destroy people in real life via internet subjugation of course.

While I am truly grateful our country has religious freedom I think Scientology is a dangerous cult (as Firm said)...A religion should not charge it's members...especially not millions like Scientology does! Read a bit about this so called "religion"..One of the things that they believe is that members who leave Scientology should be harassed, destroyed, etc...I won't even get into the deaths it has caused due to their (forgive me for saying this) wacked out beliefs.

Also, I do not know of any other religion that is so damn litigious! I mean, Scientology has armies of attorneys so they can shut down any critics!

This is the only so called "religion" that I will bash...I will commonly defend Islam when I hear people bashing it (and I am not Muslim) for example...

You're absolutely right Cali. I actually got really interested in Scientology after watching the vid posted above and I've been shocked at what I've learned. To be a "true scientologist" you must spend around $350,000 to take courses on various things, one of them basically being a class on how to manipulate people. I also read a little bit about L Ron Hubbard, the creator of scientology. Before he wrote the "scientologists bible" he actually said "Why get paid a penny for each page? If you really want to make money you start a religion."

But that's for a whole other thread that I planned on starting sometime soon so maybe we could get more views on it and see what other people think, because I would like to learn quite a bit more.

As far as this message from anonymous, it's not a joke. I read up a little bit on the group and they are really trying to strip scientology of its ability to manipulate more people into becoming members and contributing money. So far they have done quite a bit, including protesting outside of several scientology churches, handing out flyers in front of said churches at random times, and performing a DoS attack that shut down Scientology.org .

If anyone has any links to where I could find out more information about "anonymous" it would be greatly appreciated, I would really like to learn more about this group. I would like to go into detail about how I feel about scientology right now but it would be an ignorant rant, I would like to learn a lot more before a thread is started on the subject itself.

I can honestly say that I hope that I never piss off this group of people. Jesus Christ man.. Even if it's just a joke and whatnot, they still mean some serious business.

I never knew that anonymous had been on the news before, especially for the things that were listed on that broadcast.

All I can say is that if this is serious and they are actually doing what they're claiming they might be the only group out there that has the potential to actually do damage to scientology. Wow, I'm seriously interested. I find it hard to believe but at the same time it's very possible. Hmm.
