What would you do in this situation?

I'm living with my grandfather whoes health is bad.I work 7pm till 7am and sleep during the day.I have 3 days off one week and 4 the next.He has six kids and most come to stay with him the nights I work, but when I come home they leave.OK,the problem is when I get my days off,no one comes.I can't make no plans to do anything because someone needs to be here.4 days off is more than most get,but I don't think its too much to ask for at least 1 day a week to be given a break. It seems that everyone elses weekend plans are more important than mine.I'm 30 years old,and his kids are 50+.I bet they wouldn't have done what I am doing when they were 30.Anyway,I've considered seeking outside help.I wonder if things would change if their inheritance money was being used to pay for some help.

Sit down and talk to all of them and express your wishes to be helped out on your days off. You are DEFINITELY all adults.

Kudos to you for doing what you're doing

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but...

My grandmother survived 7 different cancers including brain cancer, it was the 8th that she died from. She pretty much raised me and was always there for me growing up.. my mother was the one 75% of the time that took her to her chemo appointments and such. In her final month or two she had a full time staff of 12 people staying with her and helping her with everything around the clock 24-7. We were still there most of the time but still my only regret was that i wasnt there more and that i didnt do more for her.
