Any one else keep fish? -*Pic Heavy*-

well i have only been fishkeeping for the last 3-4 years and its pretty adictive...

So far im only into freshwater stuff but in the future im going to go into the salt water aswell...

Ok well this is my first tanks that i got 4-5years aga. its a 60 gallon community tank, that has guppies, mallies, tetras and some small cichlids(rams). the guppies i have been breeding from the start and i have gotten some weird colours out of it.

this is a few from my 90gallon millaw Cichlids., its a bit over grown with the red/brow algae but its too big of a pain to fix... so like this it shal stay...

older shot i have since installed much more lighting and a few more plants...

dinner

dont mind the stacks of C/d... there is only 500 of them total.

heres a more recent shot with most of the rocks out for cleaning... with the plants.

got tons more... like 300 more...

and my little 10 gallon baby tank/firebelly newt.

and my 13000 gallon pond project...35'long 15' wide and 4'deep. has a 6'tall waterfall w/ 20'streem comming from a 5'X5'X5'filter. Here is a few from hundrids of pics...
this is all clay shail and rocks.
and that wall is 12-18"thick... and a total of 9'tall and 15'wide

hand dug, and thats me in the coffin... i mean filter.

My buddy has a 150 gallon tank set up as a coral reef tank and it's awesome. He has nemo's and a bunch of other cool fish. He says it can be quite the expensive hobby.

What exactly do you have to do to build a pond other than digging a big hole? I mean like keeping it well maintained and nice looking.

fishing is free my friend...

first off to dig it you must get exavators to dig it out, we rented a small one but it couldnt handle the rocks and clay, so we got a bigger one. thats almost 1000 for the weekend more with fuel then the crap needs to be taken away, $200 a dump load is the going rate, thats $1000 then the concreet needed to be put up to keep it safe and legal, thats another g-note then the rubber liner had to be bought which was 50'x30' to accomodate with the 4'depth, and we had to get granit for the streem of the waterfall whius was another $1500 then there will be river rocks and so many other things...

here is some more pics...

2 MASSIVE PUMPS(7800GH)

huge diggers

3" pipes going up to feed waterfall...

a few bolders...

and a bit of finishing...

I had two of these:

They were given as a gift. They made babies, only one made it alive uneaten.
They all died after several weeks. The baby went last.
It was a hunchback too.

By the way, where can I find them? I want another school of these killifish/north rachovii.

oh man those cichlids get big and eat quite a lot of food.. I used to have a 200 gallon tank for them and they'd splash water all over the place come feeding time.. it was insanity.

Here's my 130 gallon reef tank.. sorry don't have any better pics at the moment.

nice looks like its been set up for years. the cavity that i have biult into the wall is where i want to put my salities with the current 90gallon acting as a refugin the space allows for ~120gallon tanks. this move will allow for my cichlids to have a bit more room...

ive always wonted a salt water setup, maybe not a reef tank but something to easeinto it... i just can see around spending almost $1000 on the rocks alone. then the co2 and supliments for the coral... thats alot of patioence im not sure i have...

Im a bit surprised that this is it i thought that there would be more then just this on 8th... i see 8thgen civics outside bigal's all the time.

I've got a couple of tanks. I have recently downsized, but still have a 220, 180, 150, 120, and a 37 gallon tank. All of them being freshwater. It's quite the addiction.

one of my little crawfish molted, and now its the biggest thing in the tank... this is in my community tank and i decided to pop this little guy in to take care of any fish that might die and that i dont feel like taking out. I got 4 to put in with my cichlids for lunch and noticed they gave my 5 :)

here is a pic of the husk and he is right behind hid shell... takes them a few hours to grow there new shell and in the meantime they are vilnerable. which is where my cichlids rip them apart, but there is nothing in my community tank to eat him so i wonder how big he will get?

he is 3-4"long now, almost twice as big as i put him in... about a month and a half ago...

well the going rate is 1 koi per 1000gallons and anything over 5000-8000gallons its 2 koi/1000g....

i plan on 20-25 ish in mine, considering that they grot to almost two feet and up to 150 years, i would rather them have alot of space to grow.
