The year Santa came in a Civic

The Year Santa came in a Civic

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and no one on the streets,
After shopping all day, everyone was beat.

The stockings are stuffed, the presents are wrapped,
And on Santa’s GPS, his routes were all mapped.

The kids were asleep, and dreaming in bed,
They will wake up at 6 A.M., that’s the part that I dread.
I in my boxers, my wife in her gown,
Were ready for bed, and about to lie down.
When from the back alley, I heard a low rumble,
“What was that?” from my mouth did I mumble.
Walked to the window, and opened the blinds,
“Who could that be?” went through our minds.
Down the alley I see a HID glow,
8000K looks so nice on the snow.
What came down the alley, from around all the bends,
A Rallye Red Civic and eight of his friends.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I thought to myself, “Could that be St. Nick?”
Quicker than a Focus, down the alley they came,
And he yelled out the window, and called them by name:
“Now, Galaxy! Now, Royal! Now, Alabaster and Habanero Red Pearl!
On Taffeta! On Atomic! On, Nighthawk and Fiji Blue Pearl!
To the end of the alley! To the first little street!
Now Vtec! Now Vtec! We have got time to beat!”
As the snow on the ground took to the sky,
Looked more like a blizzard, as each one drove by.
So quickly around the corner they flew,
With the cars full of toys, And St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a second, I heard on the street,
The cars were braking, as I heard each one squeak.
Threw the bedroom I ran and into the hall,
Through the garage he came, didn’t use the chimney at all.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
His fur was clean, No ashes, No soot;
A bundle of presents he had on his back,
And looked like a peddler just opening his sack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a Cherry!
His Droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, A right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
With a jerk of his head, and a wink of his eye,
I knew I was busted, “You caught me!” I sigh.
He laughed as he said “I knew all along:
I know when your sleeping, Don’t you remember the song?”
He placed more presents under the tree,
Then as quick as he came, through the garage he did flee.
He jumped in his car, told his friends “Turn up the heat!”
And away they all drove, all the Civics looked so sweet.

But I heard him yell as they drove out of sight,
“Happy modifying to all, and to all a good night!”

Well I don't get snow in GA. , but every time I wash the car the brakes get wet and the Brakes squeak when I come to a stop. I would think Snow would do the same thing. And the cars are coming to a stop (braking) safely, Not Slidding and Screeching to a stop....
