Lol. Any woman that would actually sleep with me because of my 'civic' is really too scary to contemplate...

whats the specs? for 1300 youll only be able to get 1080i most likely... contrast ratio? these things are more important than brand :)

When I worked at wal-mart we sold a lot of Vizio's when they first came out.
They aren't the best TV's out but for the money they are pretty damn good. I say go for that, or if you want to spend a bit more for a smaller size, go with the Polaroid. Even better would be a Sony or a Samsung. But I say go for it, they are pretty good. |

vizio is pretty decent. but if I were you i would save up a couple more hundred and buy something better. Kinda like how i picked my car, buy an ex for 18000 or 21000 for si... Sharp aquos is clear as water. Its so clear it makes my eyes hurt. Be sure to get 1080P for the best quality. 720P is good too if you want to save a little money

I was just LCD shopping w/ my older bro for his entertainment center and you get what you pay for. A 42" for Under $1300 prolly isn't gonna have that great of a picture quality unless it's on a good deal. That's about what my bro paid for a 36" I beleive. I also noticed a lot of the 'no-name' brands like you stated were quite fuzzy up close. If you don't care about picture quality as much as others, then I think it'd be a fine tv.
