Maybe she's not keen on the Prius' 76 hp and the fact that it looks like a shoe?

I saw the segment as well. It was a pretty good watch. HBO has been running some stuff on clean air and gas/energy consumption. It's set in Portland, Oregon. That city's got some neat $#!+ going on.

Haven't driven a Prius, so I can't comment on it's "git up 'n go."

HAVE driven an EV, an old model, semi-mass-produced but not the GM EV1 (for various reasons I shouldn't say what it was!)

It had an awful lot of "oomph," far more than the car I was driving at the time. It's my understanding the EV1 was much the same. Electric motors and low-end torque FTW!

I dunno, I still say it resembles a shoe. Maybe it's just too ugly to be compared to one :gaygiggle

I also saw something on CBS Nightly News this evening where the reporter said President Bush is pushing manufacturers to make more fuel efficient cars. I said to myself, hey President Jackass, Honda is already striving to make more fuel efficiency milestones for their vehicles, plus Hondas are already the most fuel efficient vehicles on the road, so use them as an example for other manufactuers! :face-icon
