Cedar Point Puts Thrill Ride Up For Sale
Demon Drop Built In 1983

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Point amusement park is putting a 22-year-old free-fall ride up for sale.

The Demon Drop was built for $2.5 million in 1983. Riders on the Demon Drop fall 10 stories in less than three seconds.

Passengers board four-person cars that move horizontally to the top of the 131-foot-tall tower. The car ascends to the top of the tower in six seconds

A park spokesman said selling the ride will make room for new projects. If no buyers come forward, the park will keep the ride.

Cedar Point did not reveal the asking price.

The 300-foot-tall Power Tower ride built in 1998 is similar to the Demon Drop, but it is propelled by compressed air instead of gravity.

The Demon Drop will continue to operate while it's up for sale.

who's buying????? You can put it in your back yard.

we have one in gurnee mills,six flags great america, it's pretty fun but would i buy it? i dont know.

How cool would it be to purchase the sign or one of the carts for your house? When people come over, they can sit in it like it is the couch!

Oh yeah. Power Tower is so much better than Demon Drop. On Power Tower, you can choose to be shot up or dropped down.

I've made three road trips to Cedar Point, so this isn't an Ohio-only thread.

I dunno the girl that had her feet cutoff makes me nervous of riding these types of rides now. They should put it on eBay.
