There are probably some filters you can use on the water you wash your car with to avoid the spots. The Mr. clean system comes to mind as an example. Washing with diluted vinegar solution may help.

I had water spots on my car after parking next to a sprinkler for a few days while I was on vacation. I think the minerals penetrated into my wax. When I removed the wax with diluted dawn the water spots were able to be removed with diluted vinegar.

Clay bar removes them well. You can also buy something like this..

Total Filter Kit

It happened to me too after a summer rain here. I live in an industrial city. I used a MF towel soaked in vinegar and the minerals came right off.

For me, the damage was already done. The spots had dried in the sun and created acid gouges in my clearcoat.

Thought the title of this thread was "Water Sports." That would have been totally different.

I use what is called a water blade. Bought the product about 8 years ago and have used the same one ever since. I quickly wipe the water away. Then use a microfiber towel to soak up any tough spots.

Try using a diluted solution of vinegar and water, it will kill whatever wax there was but it should work

Any suggested ratio of vinegar to water?
