Question For The Guys...

Just curious...why do some guys tell girls "if it came down to it I'd be with you, no one even compares to you", "I would never fall for anyone else", or "you don't have to worry about anyone taking your place" but then spend time/hang out/hook up with other girls? I can usually tell when guys are bullshitting with me, but when this one told me these things, I didn't sense bullshit.

I'm not trying to be rude or generalize by saying all guys do this to all girls, I've just experienced this myself as well as a few other females that I know. I'm aware that some guys will say anything to sleep with a girl, but when that's not even an issue...why do they feel the need to say things like that? To keep the girl around just in case things fall through with other girls? To build her up just to watch her fall? Or is it ever true?

I think in that case, it's a girl that you think isn't actually gonna be with u..so you kinda leave that on the table for them..but he probably would drop all the girls and everything for you...it sounds pretty sincere.

No matter what he says..he probably thinks you won't be with him anyways.

But would you keep using it after getting what you want? That's what I don't get, if you got what you want, why would you keep bullshitting...isn't it easier to just give the girl the boot?

He wants to keep you around in case all else fails probably..that's my thought on that.

That's what I figured, but if it were me, I'd just find someone new because it would be the simpler solution. Thanks for the input.

well... it depends

if she was good in bed.... Hed still wanna use her... u know sorta like a backup

but honestly...i lose interest after i get what i want.

u probably have qualities that he likes....but if u were really really special to him he wouldnt even look at other girls.... sum guys are like that.....

Well, its a tough call by not knowing who the guy is or his personality type...my personally, if I said something like that I would mean it. But I have known guys to say that and have a girl on the side he said the same things too.

Its the exact same as a girl telling a guy "I like you as a friend" or "I'd be you if I didnt have a boyfriend." Sucks being the person on the receiving end if thats the case...seems it always happens to me more than anyone else I know.

I had a girl once ask me if I would marry her if she asked me...I said yes b/c i was head over heels for her, but she had an on/off again bf in cali and was moving back there. She did it to see if she could stop flirting or continue to act the way she did around me...but she couldn't stop b/c the attraction between us too strong...as saying goodbye lasted 2 months of sweet, passionate love making took place.

It's been going on for over two years and I leave things up to him, I never call, text, or IM him first because I figure if he wants to, he will. We'll hang out for a few weeks or months and then all of sudden it will fade away. He never says, "I don't want to see you anymore" or that he's focusing on someone else, but I'm assuming that's what it is. Ideally, we could be friends but it's hard to be friends with someone who won't be straight up with you.

2 yrs is a lot for many people......

but!!!!

U never know...maybe he wants to see other women and experiment...and do a lotta stuff... Maybe.

eventually when he finds out that u have found sum1 else.... he will come after u again.... tell u how much he missed u loved u... but by that time... ud have forgotten him.

the above happened to a close friend of mine.

If i was you, id let him be....and look for a better person out there.

It's kinda obvious.. no guy is gonna get in your pants if they say the truth (that they're interested in you specifically 40%, interested in as much sex from wherever they can get it 60%). It's kinda sad - but no girl would feel very attached to a guy that didn't make them sound special, right? You can tell who the ones are that are sincere and those who aren't - don't sleep with them. If a guy still stands by his "you're the only girl for me" when he knows he isn't getting laid.. he's legit.

Agreed, theres someone out there who wont get tired of being with you after 2 years...but also you just go to keep L-I-V-I-N...if its supposed to happen, it will. It may take some getting used to, but he may realize that he needs you more.
