random crime is seldom ...
every time a crime is solved there's some kind of connection between the involved parties ...

the economy is great ... used to be ran by banana exports but that has taken a back seat to tourism ...
think about this ... 2.7169 EC dollars (eastern caribbean dollar, st. lucian money) = 1 US dollar ... compare that to the other currencies of the world ...
jamaica = ~ $60 - 1 US
china = ??
etc etc

1st world ??? no
3rd world ??? i would say no ...
but the US and others like to refer to anyone beneath them as 3rd world ...
no one likes to hear that especially when they know they are a lot more developed than the US and others give them credit for ... IMO it all comes from not being educated and so they just refer to you as 3rd world or whatever ... IMO it's a slap in the face ... doesn't really bother me, however, believe me when i tell you that A LOT of people/developed countries take it seriously and see it as the other countries not giving them credit in an effort to keep them down ... it creates hatred... not so much in the Caribbean countries but there is still an underlying disgust over it there...
though some can be classified as 3rd world according to the guide lines set for such ...

well...
i'm not a US citizen or permanent resident(yet)
came here as an international student(reason why it says student in my profile) ... so i was totally dependent on my parents.

but ebay did work wonders(to say the least :)) for me so i had a lot of disposable income from that as well as funds from the rents.

and no i'm not too old to be living with my parents ... if i was at home i'd still be under their roof, not paying bills or anything like that ... even if i was working ...

that's just how it is ... you don't move out unless u can buy land and build your own house cuz there are hardly any apartments or stuff like that there. Either that or you take over your parent's house(s) as they get old ... cuz there's hardly any apartments for rent ...

rentals are usually for guests/tourists.

so yeah ... i'm living life here as if i was at home ... cuz there's no other way when u aren't allowed to work etc unless u go through the whole immigration stuff which i'm just going through now ... or I can just work illegally which i'm not about to do cuz i don't have to and won't risk it anyway.

yup... a whole different way of life ... no credit system or anything like that ... u either take a loan based on income, assets etc or u pay for whatever with your own money.
