Coggin Honda lost some cars.

Orange County deputies are investigating a car theft involving four cars stolen off a car lot. The cars were stolen off of an overflow lot at Coggin Honda on South Orange Blossom Trail and Central Florida Parkway.

Deputies said the thieves jumped a fence surrounding the car lot and broke into one of the cars. Once inside, they drove it through a fence sop that they could steal even more cars.

The cars sitting on the lot at Coggin Honda have small, grey boxes attached to the windows. Inside the secure boxes are the keys to the automobiles.

The thieves were able to remove the boxes from the cars and, using a sledge hammer, break them open and drive off the lot with the stolen cars. Nine other cars were damaged during the incident.

Deputies were on the scene, searching for more clues to the crime.

*I now heard that there was 6 cars stolen*

I always wonder why some dealers use those key boxes on the windows. THE KEYS ARE RIGHT THERE!! Just smash the box and go, just like these guys did! Or if you can't smash it take it home and cut it with a chop saw.

That happened to my dealership when I worked at Infiniti. they stole 3 brand new M45's and stole the wheels off of like 8 other cars. I didn't mine too much since I got to sell 8 sets of wheels, but I know it was a huge loss for the new car department. All car theives should burn in hell!!!

Every dealership should have automated machine guns propped on the side of the buildings.

Yeah, I don't know many dealers in metros that use keyboxes anymore: too much of a concern.

Hopkins Honda had a black Si coupe stolen right off its lot (they think it was an inside job) a year or so ago.
