Not my scene, but congrats.

Sounds like a big time hookup.

You'll probably have to pimp some huge decals, though.

So... he wants to "sponser" you, but still makes you pay?
Sounds like crap to me. If you want me to put your company logo on my car, you better be hooking it up for free.

Usually sponsoring = discounted parts as a trade-off for pushing product

1. Other than the JL subs, you don't have any idea what he's putting in there? It could be complete shit.
2. 17" flip down in a car with a sunroof? Hope he's planning on building some support otherwise you'll be F*CKED! I can't wait to see your roof get bent because it's cool to have a flip down... haha Plus, they are a couple inches thick which could even get in your mirror's way with it up, let alone the fact your mirror is worthless when it's down.

Honestly.. the majority of that stuff you can obtain through wholesalers or ebay for probably LESS then what you're paying.

Sponsorships are great for Items that are new or "upcoming" to debut on your car for a discounted price....

however.... what that shop did was

Have you walk in.. gas your head up with illusions of grandeur and maybe where you would have spent 1000.... you now are in for 2500 dollars in work that honestly... you dont need and sounds extremely "too much"

if it is infact a REAL sponsorship where they are giving you loaners like you say, you should have something written up that when you want your car back to stock he will buy all the oem trims they have to modify , cut, damage for you to put that stuff in.

So with that being said...

errr kudos lol

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Type X again.

That is what I call a partial sponsor. I have one now. I get everything at 10% above cost or cost. Depends on how much I order. The 10% over usually is to cover shipping. Downfall? They expect you to be at every comp, every show, repping their product. Seems cool at first but starts to become a pain. Every year something new comes out and they would prefer you pimp that. Gets extremely expensive. In the past year I have went thru 4 systems and close to $6k. Just be careful if you pursue this. Oh and if you go to sell something they will ask you to sell for less than what you paid. They don't want you to make a profit if they didn't.

A FULL sponsor would pay for everything. But their demands would be even worse.
