its funny now but not back then lol
It’s a old story but I was just thinking about it and decided to share. Its funny to me know but back then I could have killed this guy lol well here we go…….
So on December 24th (Christmas eve) right after hurricane Katrina, I had a accident in my 2002 civic. I was found to 100% not at fault (seeing as how the lady tried to jet out of a parking lot and across 4 lanes of busy traffic) and her INS company was picking up the tab for everything. Damages were… totaled front bumper, bent hood, destroyed headlights, and a bent fender… (would have pics but lost my cam in the storm along with everything else I owned lol). Now as you can imagine there were A LOT of people living in baton rouge at the time and A LOT more accidents were happening so most body shops were booked solid for about 2 months straight and with the predicament I was in, I was unable to be without a car for that long. I was able to “luckily” find a body shop (Krazy Customs) that was able to take my car within 2 week which was about how long it was going to take to order all the parts anyway. So I drop the car off and jump into a rental the INS company was fronting me. a couple of weeks go by and I call the shop up to check on the statues of my car and the guy told me that all the parts were in but the bumper still hadent made it from the warehouse yet (xenon front bumper). He had already started the work on the car and would just have to put the bumper on the car and paint when it got in. so about 3-4 weeks after the accident I go to pick up the car. When I took a look at it I could see that he had painted the hood, fenders and bumper but the pin stripes were left off of the painted fenders. Im not a fan of the pin stripes but the were still on the rest of the car lol. Anyway, that’s a small thing and he said he would fix it when the grill came in that he ordered from Honda. So I look at the front of the car and sure enough.. there is no grille. Ok so fine, no pin stripes on the front of the car and still no grill but at least I got my car back and she looks pretty damn good…. Or so I thought. About a week goes by and I go to wash her down and the paint starts to come off and I notice some bondo behind the paint…, now im really going over the car with a fine tooth comb. Now I look under the bumper and behold to my surprise I fine a few marks under there from when my mom hit a curb in my car about a year prior. So now I know this is just my old wrecked bumper from the accident that was to be replaced. So I go back to the shop and he tries to argue with me that its just primer and not bondo and that he indeed ordered a new bumper and had it put on the car…, he even got out the order form that he signed when the new one came in. so after we argue he admit that he had to “fire his assistant and one of his paint guys for stealing parts.” He promises to order another bumper for me and it would take about 2 weeks to come in. so we agree on it and I go on about my business… so 2 weeks pass and I give him a call….. his phone is off…hmmmm….. I call his cell……. That’s off as well..hmmmm….. I pass by the shop and guess what?....... they are no longer located at that address and have since moved to another location and no forwarding address……. Funny huh? lol
