Me 54.....wife 33. Married 3.5 years, it's been great.

We don't expect it to be as easy when I'm mid 60's and older.

If you are a 22 - 34 y.o. male, anything will work just fine.

For long-term serious relationships...

A 2 - 5 year difference (either way) seems to work well for most people.

haha seems like he's speaking the truth!

Not to start a fight here (Sorry, my argumentative side comes out easily) but you REALLY put your age on a pedestal above others. In another thread you commented than anyone under the age of 24 was a slut if they had slept with multiple people.. now anyone whose younger than you is, yet again, immature and 'beneath' you. I'm 18 and guess what? I think I'm, at the very least, as mature as you.

With that being said, there is no 'age cut-off' in my opinion. Love is.. love. My best friend's mom remarried after being divorced for 10ish years to the guy who always stuck by her as a good friend. She's 38, he's 54(?) I beleive.

I would be skeptical, however, if in my mid 50s a 20-30 year old woman suddenly took a liking to me. Also my parents are 3 years apart, and I agree with what the other guy said about having common ground with your partner. I would like my future wife to be around my age so we can discuss things that happened when we were both younger and around the same age. I don't want to bring up 9/11 and the whole 'Iraq war' only to have her respond that she was only in 2nd grade when it happened

Guys, if you want a 18 year old female, here's what you gotta do.

At 18, hook up with a 40 year old rich woman. She's love teaching a new stud "How to ...." You learn.

When you turn 40, she'll be 62. Dump her. Take half.

Find an 18 year old sweetie that's looking to breakaway. You have money from your divorce. Now you get the 18 year old!

I don't intend to put my age on a pedestal. If it came across that way, I'm sorry but it was not my intent.

As for the comment about the 18 year old girl, the person asking the question said that the girl had basically "slept around". I was raised pretty traditionally, so that doesn't fly too well with me. I realize it's become more acceptable for people to do that, but in my opinion I don't like it. It has little to do with her age. If anyone of any age had basically slept around and went on a slut spree, I wouldn't have a great opinion of it.

And it's my own perogative not to date people who are younger than I. I'm not saying there aren't very mature 17+ year olds out there. There are. I know a few. Just as a general note, I wouldn't date someone who was younger than me because the vast majority of people I've met who've been my age or younger have been immature.

And, yes, you seem to be quite mature. I hope my explanations show I'm not prejudicing anyone based on their age. But if I came across that way, my apologies as it wasn't intended. 24 isn't a very lofty or great age.

I would not call a 57 yr. old woman a "girl", unless she's bent over your knee, naked, and your spanking her. Ooooo.

Would it be wrong for a 20 year old to go out with with a 17 year old?

the 20yo isnt the most mature 20 year old you've ever seen......

3 years diff is nothing. The maturity is a whole 'nother issue they have to persue on their own.
